ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Jazz 10/7/2024 (Preseason)

Team is solid but super hot takes and super cold takes are premature for a preseason game! Still they all look good!

 

Just got off a meeting. Boxscores tell me Jalen and Alpi went off in the first half. Good start!

 

How do we feel about the halftime show @Salvy @Os Trigonum

 

Cam and Amen cutting off the ball is so tough for defenses to deal with.

I think most of us feel that way. None of those dudes you mentioned would be playing if Tari and Dillon weren't sitting.

 

Yep. He was looking pedestrian on offense in the1st quarter and Ime subbed in Cam, who went on that run with 14 pts in the half and Jalen came back in the game and went off. Last season Ime had to stick with Jalen because Cam was in the gleague and all he had behind him was Aaron Holiday. Now Whitmore is the first guard off the bench and Ime brought him in early tonight

 

Yeah I'm actually poking the delusional posters more than him, I'm sure he'll be fine. You can tell he's pressing after missing a couple shots. He'll come around, that stroke is one of the purest I've ever seen.

 

Ya that's why I'm fine with just completely removing him from the rotation with no player traded back that needs to play. Just get draft capital for him. Frees up an entire 30 minutes of playing time.

 

Jalen has that rough looking goatee people rocked during Covid…that’s how u know he was locked down in the gym

Why? If Jalen shoots this well from 3 all season, the Rockets win like 60 games....

 

I liked that the kids went for it. They actually didn't seem too nervous.

The aggressive requests for crowd participation was kind of funny though

He will play against OKC. Him, Landale and Green didnt suit up.

 

Reed missing most of his shots but I have to say.... He looks rather smooth handling that ball and navigating screens. His mid range shot off the pnr does look really smooth.

 

They moved with the Utah Hockey Team from Phoenix.

 

Most of his shots tonight have been catch and shoot and one or two dribbles and then shoot off a screen. He looked bad earlier when he was playing like he was trying to be Harden.

 

I'd actually consolidate him and another benchwarmer (Tate?) for either another situational lights-out shooter or lock down perimeter defender who DOESN'T get in fights and ejected so often.

 

Players like Holiday, Tate and Landale wont play unless there are injuries.

Brooks will only be traded as part of a superstar trade which may happen next year as we wont have capspace to resign some of the core players. Alone he would cost assets to move which wouldnt be worth it.

 

If you have Jalen, Cam, and Amen to rotate between, I don't love lineups with FVV and Shepherd/Holiday. It gives away too much size.
