Seriously, how to you spend $200M on a Joker movie with nearly zero effects. $100M on two stars and ... $100M on makeup?

Well, it's a musical for some stupid reason, so they probably had to shell out some money for the right to use the songs....

Amazon is losing WAY more money on Rings Of Power. The rumor is that they've shelled out more than 1.5 billion dollars for 2 seasons of a show almost no one is watching.

This movie is so bad every critic is trying to write a mic drop line.
    ______

If Joker was a dark comedy, then Folie à Deux is its dreary, tragic twin with a frown stuck on its face. It’s a sour note for this franchise to end on but a great reminder that, eventually, all comedians bomb.

I bought tickets online Saturday night and then after reading reviews, cancelled. I don’t care what critics say, but have a feeling this is a clunker. So, I’ll wait until this hits VHS to watch it.

never watched the first joker movie (or this one). People saying the director made this movie bad on purpose because he hated the people who liked the first movie. is that true??

I think that's giving someone way too much credit for a bad movie.

Their first mistake was casting Gaga. Always felt like a DEI hire.

Crazy that last night's episode of Penguin was amazing.

I don't believe that. That would be a shitty thing to do to all the costume crew who are working hard and not trying to make a bad movie. That is a crappy thing to do to all the sound crew who showed up and worked hard to get the sound correct then tweak things in post which can be a giant pain in the ass. Those guys weren't trying to make a bad movie. It would be a crappy thing to do to all of the lighting crew, grips, and PAs who show up first each day and work hard to adjust to all of the changing conditions, shadows, etc. It is a crappy thing to do to the actors, background talent and ADs who are all there working hard to make a good movie.

Most of these folks are working hard to do a good job and hope the movie is successful so they can build a resume and get their choice of projects they care the most about.

It would be really awful for a director who they all have to trust to do that to them.

Just that it's also in the Batman universe and by comparison is much much much better than Joker 2.

Yeah last night's episode was one of the best episodes of TV I've watched since...man I can't even remember at this point. Colin Farrell's performance is ridiculous. Through episode 3 it's the best "comic book thing" since the Dark Knight imo.

For real, it's a musical in the way Rocketman was? I will watch it once it comes to streaming but as much as I dont like reviews I do perk my ears up when its this bad, watched the original again this weekend on TV and dam JP is such a good actor, IMO the dude is underrated and has a ton of range, when he played Johnny Cash I was blown away

I loved his portrayal in the latest Batman movie. I was hoping the series would be good. I’m gonna watch.

My Wife and I saw this over the weekend. It wasnt as bad as everyone is making it out to be. Sure, the movie did not really need to exist, and felt more like an epilog or DLC to the first movie, but it was by no means as terrible as everyone is saying.
