This wasn't really about play calling. This was about Stroud turning the ball over twice in the 4th qtr. Fortunately he was able to come up big and give Fairbarin a chance for the GW FG.
We don't have a consistent running game. Job of the OC is to manufacture run yards - short 5 yard throws work just the same. Stop being stubborn dang it. We have plenty of receivers to play the short pass game.
It's quite the choice and part of the equation why we've played so many close games from last season to this season. The cherry on top is compounding that with a mental mistake like catching those punts inside the 5.
