    Nashville.

hoping to move back to Houston soon.

outside of Chicago it’s probably the best place to live (now that Austin is a shithole)

    NashVegas, really? :)

Just like Austin, that place was pretty solid a decade or so ago.

I'm thinking east coast, between hills and coast. You got any ideas?

    Dear god...the weather around Chicago?

Exactly...its gone down the toilet. Nash is basically an Austin (5 years early if it goes to a time machine). Now it has gotten to the point austin was 5 years prior and no longer a good place to live. Every place californians move to turns into a dump no lie. Musicians are always broke and even the best are getting priced out of nashville, pretty soon its going to be a glorified CA shithole

Depends on what you are going for. DC is nice if you don't mind it being ridiculously expensive.

Moved away for college when I was 17, and right after I got done I left Texas trying to find some place better all around the country. I only came to the realization a short while ago its the best place to live. Don't move if you're thinking about it

Been here since Friday night and went to the beach yesterday. Unfortunately I missed it- slightly overcast which largely negates the effect and the surf is starting to build and it’s choppy so it’s churning up the silt, once again.

On the other hand, the surf should be big today (for Galveston) so I’m going to dust off my surfboard and embarrass myself for a couple of hours.

Inflatable Body Glove longboard (8') I picked up a while back. It's surprisingly good and stores easily with the pump in a big backpack.

Sadly, I no longer have any of my OG surfboards, they were a casualty of my younger, broke years.

Huh, I've never been on an inflatable one. It works?

11' Robert August longboard is my stick of choice around the Gulf

Yeah, I was surprised inflatable boards were a thing until I tried an inflatable SUP and it was solid. It's not like squishy like a pool inflatable like you'd think, it's rigid. The next year I found this one and ordered it and have been happy with it. Engineering is amazing.

8' for a 'longboard' is a bit of a stretch for my height and weight but it works, it's not a boat, but it can catch small Galveston waves which is nice.

Awesome. My knees need the stability of a big board. My carving waves days are way over

I don't have it around or I'd show you a pic, but it looks like this just bit bigger

    That’s a sweet, classic look.

There’s a trend on the island (and I guess a lot of warm costal communities) of turning old longboards into outdoor showers- they just punch holes in the board for the shower head and knobs. It looks cool but the poor kid in me is kind of horrified that a board is being used like this. I guess in theory it could be easily patched. I got drilled once in a sand bar and the tip of my board broke, I used some dowel rods, glue and car epoxy and patched it right up.

I’m lucky that my knees are fine but I don’t do any real carving or cutbacks either, my back lets me know that it doesn’t turn that way, thank you very much.
