The defense has been coming along and, man, did Zeon look good today. The final drive by Donovan Smith was nothing to sneeze at, either.
But I will allow it. As a Baylor grad and. UH law grad that was a good nite watching TCU lose at home
Defense has been pretty stout all year even last week it was 10-0 after 3 before they just got worn out from being on the field all game long.
TCU had not scored less than 34 points in any of its other games this season. 19 last night. If the offense can be even half as good as the defense, they can win every week.
TCU's defense has been a disaster this year, so yall scoring points is not a totally incredible thing, but their offense has been excellent. UH's D outclassing them was *the* surprise of the game. Kudos to the Coogs. All I've been saying, is give Fritz a chance.
Agreed. The defense shutting down a Dykes offense was quite unexpected. TCU's QB looked really bad. The DL was getting pressure up the middle consistently. AJ Haulcy and Michael Batton were everywhere. I think the game ends up a nailbiter if those 4 fumbles don't bounce the way they did, but that's football. Hats off to the UH OL as well. They stepped up big. UH ate up sooo much clock in the first 3 quarters by controlling the ball. I feel bad for Donovan as it's his senior year and his job has slipped away from him, but he's clearly not it. Zeon isn't mana from heaven, but he makes the offense move more consistently and more importantly isn't a turnover machine (yet). I'm not convinced this game wasn't an anomaly. But it shows there's life on Cullen Blvd and that's all I needed to see this year.
