One would think this sets up as a fairly easy Bills win. But, the spread opened with Buffalo getting 1 1/2... Tough game to call. Let's go Texans!
On what planet is Mixon injury prone?? Outside of a foot sprain in 2020 that kept him out of 3-4 games, he's only missed a handful of games total in his career (10 or 11 TOTAL) since 2018.
Mixon hasn't proved he can handle the full workload of a feature back. Though he runs well between the tackles, he is prone to getting beat up in there due to his aggressive running style and size. I realize our offense is tailor made for him. He's great catching the ball put of the backfield and on sweeps. And, again, he can run inside, but dishes out and takes a beating. The Texans refused to move Pierce for a better back up. We should have gotten a capable guy suited for our offense. Now, he's unavailable due to injury. Either way, a non factor. Akers has had blowups in the past, isn't a great blocker, and will occasionally put the ball on the ground. You can't count on him. The powers that be knew, and instead tried to turn Mixon into something he's not....without a viable second back.
2017: 14/16 games; 178 carries(23rd in league) (despite only starting 7 games) (Giovani Bernard & Jeremy Hill other backs) 2018: 14/16 games; 237 carries(8th) (His backup Giovani Bernard 56 carries for 211 yards) 2019: 16/16 games; 278 carries(6th) (His backup Giovani Bernard 53 carries for 170 yards) 2020: 6/16 games; 119 carries(39th) (Giovani Bernard 124 carries for 416 yards; Samaje Perine 63 carries for 301 yards) 2021: 16/17 games; 292 carries(3rd) (His backup Samaje Perine 55 carries for 246 yards) 2022: 14/16 games; 210 carries(T-16th) (His backup Samaje Perine 95 carries for 394 yards) 2023: 17/17 games; 257 carries(5th) (His backup Chase Brown 44 carries for 179 yards) 2024: 2/4 games; 39 carries(34th) Mixon: 39 carries, 184 yards, 1 TD, 4.7 Y/A Zack Moss, his signed replacement, has 48 carries for 187 yards, 2 TDs, 3.9 Y/A. (Chase Brown, other Bengals RB: 29/184/2/6.3) Bengals, as a team, are 23rd in rushing. 89 attempts, 409 yards, 4 TD, 4.6 Y/A. Texans: 19th in rushing; 102 attempts, 427 yards, 2 TD, 4.2 Y/A. (Yes, I get it. Most of his/the Texans rush came in week 1 vs. bad Colts rush defense) He was taken down on a tackle they said they were banning. (And all the guy got was a $16K fine) Revisionist history is strong!
He was the lead back for the Bengals going to the super bowl Some of you have no idea what you're talking about
Talk about rude AND ignorant... Joe averaged 15 carries a game. He handled about 60% of the load on the ground. Forget about 20+ carries every week. It's not realistic.
