Time to take Altuve out of the leadoff spot and DH him 50-60 games. Bat him 6th. Get a first baseman that can slug get an outfielder that can mash get a good bullpen arm get a 3rd baseman that can play good defense and hit a little and try to make sure these dudes have some fire
I love these fantasies where we unload our **** contracts for underperforming players to willing trade partners. Ain’t happening….Hader was a Crane move through and through, we’re stuck with him so ya better hope he gets better….
Huge offseason for Crane, I’m genuinely interested to see if he buys in and spends or pulls back and plays the let’s see game which runs us into a .500 or slightly better team…..
A .500 team can win the division. Angels are jokes. As are going to struggle in their AAA environment. Rangers are on the decline. And Mariners wasted their window. As long as you have a rotation of Framber-Brown-Arrighetti, this team wins 80 games.
Watching game 2 was painful. I know it's b*tch a*s move but I was so sure we will lose that just could't watch rest of it. Ofcourse hoped it would spur some pos. jinx. Team had no heart or hunger. Tucker's cow eyed disinterested look was infuriating. I know it supposed to be "been there before" cool look but just looks r*tarded and lazy. Even RDJ said in Tropic Thunder as Oscar bait advice "You never go full r*tard". I know it's hot take after losing but we need a reset. Expectations are higher than actual roster skill level because of all the success. Trade Tucker, Framber and Pressley (paying 50% of his salary or something) and sign Breggy if he does't get that crazy money. You can still make winning team around this pitching and couple of additions. There does't have to be 80-100m invested in 3 players (Tuck, Framber, Breggy). I wanna keep Breggy but not with 8y 250m deal. I don't mind spending that, not my money, but I know it would prevent 5-10 other moves FO/Crane could do coming years. Give boys a chance to suprise in pos.way and not be pressured to perform on level they are not at yet. Maybe get couple bats and give new CF a chance. Anybody. We have seen all that Jake is and ok def option late or 4th OF. The weird feeling is you wanna see Tigers crushed next round just to show guys who they lost to but that is't very rational I admit. I will be cheering for Padres, Guardians and Mets. In that order. Don't wanna see Yankees, Dodgers or Phillies going anywhere.
Hopefully THAT was dude's worst season in Houston. What a f***ing debacle that 8th inning was -- from Altuve's wretched range, to Pressly's pathetic performance, to "this MF". .
Get Yordan a new trainer and physical therapist Get Tuck an adderall prescription Give Framber beta blockers
Props to Blanco for keeping them in early in the season. Props to Hunter for a 180 turnaround and became 2nd starter. Props to Kikuchi for proving the doubters wrong. Props to spaghetti for keeping the tradition of good rookie alive. Props to tayler scott (even tho he fell off at the end). Looking forward to see what blanco, hunter, and spaghetti has to offer next season. No point of bashing players at this point. Season's over. Move on
Two options I see. 1 Go all in. Resign Bregman, Kikuchi, and add vets at 1B and CF. Get under the tax in 2026. 2. Reset. Let Bregman and Kikuchi walk. Trade Tucker and Framber to reload the farm. Add vets on prove it deals at 3B, 1B, and CF.
As long as the Astros have Altuve and Alvarez I don’t see a scenario where they rebuild. I do think they’re gonna come down to a decision between one of the 2 of Tucker and Bregman. Hopefully they choose wisely… Pressly needs to be gone like yesterday. Im in the camp that thinks Hader will be okay. They should have never had him do the 1 1/2- 2 inning bullcrap. He’s a closer. 1 inning only. Offer Verlander a team friendly deal. This whole stupidity of Meyers/McCormick/Gamel has to stop. They need to do whatever it takes to get a power bat in the outfield. 1st base… I don’t even have the energy. Oh and Peña? Thanks for that 2022 World Series performance but you can go too.
The average lifespan of a hobbit is 130 years. They age slower and heal more quickly. Altuve was an All-Star this season and I think he has two or three All-Star seasons left in him. It's a shame the year he was relatively healthy throughout, so many others were injured around him. There's a gaping hole at first base. They need a slugger there. They need stability.
