They did this last year, really. They never really found their footing and there have been too many holes in the lineup.
Probably not. He's never had the team prepared. Chas is about the only player I can think of that has ever outplayed his expectations.
Agree that best of three is bullshit for a division winner. Why not best of 5? Or why not just a true wild card weekend tournament where four teams duke it out for one spot to play the team with the best record in the DS round?
I'm offering Diaz the Yordan deal ASAP. He'll take it. One of Dana's prospect is going to hit. It shouldn't be doom and gloom sell everything for 75% off Pitching staff: Hunter Blanco Valdez Arrighetti Innings eater Dana has to get to work with Baggie staying clear. Crane needed some humble pie to be honest.
2019 WS - don't win a game at home - can't score any runs 2023 ALCS - don't win a game at home - can't score any runs 2024 - WC - don't win a game at home - can't score any runs Those are the one's that immediately spring to mind - not sure if there are any other shouts in there. Sucks because I attend a lot of games at MMP but the frequency with which they cannot score any runs there is so ****ing frustrating.
The fact that they've lost 6(?) home playoff games in a row is astounding. That's really hard to do, props.
Well we came full circle We started with an ice cold offense with the backend of the bullpen not performing well.... And that's how we ended . It was a good ride this season , but we had too much to overcome . Regroup and try again next year
Well, sh*t. The run of ALCS's was bound to end sometime and 7 ain't bad. Just couldn't get going early enough to stay within a bye situation throughout the season and then ran into a buzzsaw in the WC round. I'm not going to whine about how many games this round should be or that we somehow got hosed. These are the rules and we, theoretically were the better team. But this bad juju of home playoff games continued and we lost again. I'm sure there are some that will think that it was an effort thing. If so, you're a moran. If you don't think they gave everything they had up until the end, you haven't been paying attention for the last almost decade. They just ran out of it earlier than normal this year. I trust the organization will get us back into a playoff position again in 2025.
Postseason baseball is a crapshoot. Interesting season and still kind of amazing they won the division. The Hader signing has not looked good so far. Maybe Pressly would have still been mediocre, but the bullpen situation never settled and Espada still overworked Abreu and Hader at points. That was money that could have addressed other needs. Dana Brown is definitely a good judge of talent, but the roster had some clear issues going into the season that were never addressed.
Yuli outlasting the Astros in the post-season. He's done more for the Royals than half of our lineup the last 2 days. We signed Alemdys Diaz over him lol. Our front office is a joke now.
I don't know why Astros played so terrrible at home in the postseason in past few years. Something need to change.
I knew when they pulled pressly for hader it was done. We all knew. Not saying Pressly would’ve gotten that last out, but I just knew Hader wouldn’t. Hader is far too hittable to be our closer. He is awful in high pressure situations. What a huge waste of money he is so far. Massive mistake signing him. Like I said, I’m sure we all knew what was gonna happen but did Joe know? If not, why? I like Joe but red flags go up when I consider his lack of feel for the game, and his robotic responses to the media. Not really seeing a personality there. That’s a concern going forward for me. I laid off of him this year, and he did some good things. However, I don’t think he’s a difference making manager. He’s better than Dusty, but that’s only because he didn't purposely sabotage us like Baker did. Overall, I think Joe is a quiet guy who really only speaks the company line and isn't creative enough to make his own mark on this team. Not having a feel for what Hader was gonna do in that situation is a big problem. The fans knew what Hader would do. The manager needs to know that too. Pressly had a better chance of getting that 3rd out with the game tied than Hader. Espada has to know that. It’s concerning that he didn’t.
