Until the first preseason game. I am so excited that I did the "One more week 'til the Rockets game" dance all the way through my house.

I really like what is being said about TMac (that he is enjoying playing for a defensive coach) and Nachbar (that he is developing some confidence) and am VERY optimistic about this year.

my enthusiasm is guarded because usually when you have a bunch of new guys together no matter how good, it historically takes 2 or 3 seasons before they can make a deep playoff run.

as per miami... shaq's lost like 60 pounds or something, he's going to destroy yao. that's good though because then yao can see what dominance really is.

I'm so glad the Astros and the Texans are here to occupy my mind while I wait for the Rockets. Had the Texans kept on sucking after their 0-2 start, and the Astros not made the playoffs, I'd probably be one annoyed Houston sports fan right now.

They said the same thing Yao's rookie year, then again last year. It never materialized, at least not consistently. Yao has always held his own against Shaq. Don't forget Yao will be much stronger this year as well as 1 more year wiser.

Besides, we only play Miami twice....not including the Finals. ;)

    here you are... a 100% Kobe-Hater..
to say the trueth, I want to see how well Kobe can recover from the
"rape" nightmaire and how far he can lead his "own" team without Shaq..

Timberwolves last year? They had a pretty good run for a completely retooled team.

Also if Shaq lost 60 pounds he won't be able to push Yao out so much now. He will be quicker, for sure. But I'm not sure how effective his quickness will be when theres 3 people around him.

Unless my math is wrong, that still leaves Shaq at around 300 lbs as he was at or near 360 last year. He won't be anybody's b**** anytime soon at that weight!

60 lbs.? I'm pretty sure that's a big exagerration. Last time I saw him, at the MTV awards, he looked like he'd dropped a healthy 20 lbs. or so, but he isn't reinventing the wheel, folks.

Exactly. He's just trading in his spare tire for a slight smaller spare tire.
