Like you said yesterday, they are just “doing the reverse jinx” after we win today. If we lose, they can tell us how they knew it though.
I agree. It also changes the pitchers approach as well though like I was saying. If it’s a 0-0 or even a 1-0 game, Skubal might have pitched Tucker completely different when he had 2 on. It’s a lot easier knowing worse case it’s going to be tied if you make a mistake versus “I better not give it up or this game might be over”. You give Skubal a 3-0 lead in the playoffs and I bet they win >80% of the time against any team/lineup.
Pitching cools off the hot team. We did it in 22 against the Phillies. Didn't do it in 2019. I think we win today and finish them off tomorrow.
Yeah I don't have a good feeling. If the run ends today or tomorrow I'll be sad. But I don't think I'll ever see an Astros run like this in my lifetime or possibly ever. (I'm 32.) We have been very lucky to have this era of the Astros.
If we win today I feel good about tomorrow. Kikuchi should be able to carve up their lineup. The biggest flaw Kikuchi has is giving up the HR ball which they aren’t good at, especially against LHP. Good luck stringing a bunch of singles together against him.
