Framber was the best pitcher in the baseball post season only a few years ago... he was bad last season in the post season. Like almost every other pitcher - Gerritt Cole has been up and down in the post season. He is usually really good, but also has been knocked around some series. Sample size is so small it varies widely from series to series and year to year.
Neris usually makes a mess and cleans it. Now he had runner on already. Yikes. Comforting myself it don't matter if we don't score.
he shouldn't have started G1... I dont think he's THE GUY to be elite in the playoffs... dude's head is bigger than his arm. ...but I guess as long as the drip is fleecing, then nobody can hit him... /sarcasm
First panic move by Joe. You let Valdez pitch as long as he can. Now you're going 4 2/3 with the pen. Hopefully it's Arrighetti for 3 innings. That's what he's there for. You've got to understand the context of the game, and that is the best pitcher in baseball is mowing down this lineup. Now is not the time to try to keep it close. Plus is Neris really a better option at this point?
So neris is off too. Hitters getting shutout why can’t this team be prepared for the postseason? Detroit is a much younger team and they are stepping up and calmly handling their business. The Astros look like the inexperienced team.
Duh - and Ill take 2022 Framber Valdez as my ace in the playoffs any day too. Yet both of them have been very good at times and not at other times in the playoffs. Very few pitchers are Curt Schilling or Bob Gibson or Madison Bumgarner
