Damn, really blindsided by this one. Met him at T-mac Charity game in 06 and again before a game verse the Sixers in 07 while he was chatting with Iverson, really genuine guy, rest easy big fella......

A tragic loss, far too young. He was such a great man. Rest in peace big fella.

What an incredible human being and great man, died so young but left his mark on this world like no other. The world has lost one of the greatest ambassadors for the sport of basketball and the originator of one of the best taunt in all of sports, the finger wag. There will never be another Dikembe Mutombo R.I.P.

Tragic and sad. I was not optimistic from what I had read. Daryl Morey wrote something some months ago where he said Dikembe was really struggling.

    A really good person.

    I’m shocked..

RIP Dikembe. Played his butt off for the Rockets until his body gave in. And overall just a fun player to watch on the defensive end...not a lot of players got the crowd that excited on defense. And great and charitable human being off the court.

Damn it, cancer is such a monster.

I remember eating at the Luby's on Waugh one time, and I heard this very loud and gruff voice. It sounded so familiar, then I look and it's Dikembe enjoying a chicken fried steak plate.
