The reported buyout was for $250K. That's how much they're paying him in total, not how much was taken off his $4M contract. So it was Griffin that passed on millions.

Could you not serve Jesus better with $6 million to donate to starving children?

(or is it all about you?)

I mean, that's real right there, agree or not with him. Let's see any of ya'll hating his beliefs give up guaranteed millions for what you believe in.

I’ll take a shot. Does he or his God believe in working for a year or 2 to make a few million bucks to feed starving children?

Or is it all about him?

What have you given up for your beliefs, whatever they are? Truly curious. Not what you would, but what you have if anything at all?

Myopic view of how people decide to make a difference in the world. Sometimes money doesn’t solve the problems that ail others in this world. Can it help? Sure. But to think it’s the best or only way is short sighted. And to infer it’s self-centric assumes a lot about a persons intentions without really knowing them.

Plenty of people leave high paying jobs and forego money in order to do and create something they believe has a larger impact in this world. How is it reasonable to judge a person for how they choose to leverage their own time and talents? You may not agree or would do the same. But just because it doesn’t make sense to you doesn’t mean he’s self-centered.

    That's a bit personal, Bub.

I will tell you that I haven't given up $10 million dollars of children's charity for 2 years of work.

How could you, while preaching to others that listening to Beyonce will send you straight to hell?

Telling random human beings that they are going to hell for the music they listen to, and then not taking $10 million in potential charity money by leveraging your god-given ability for 2 years, is...

You guys keep saying he is "giving something up," like the dude doesn't come from privilege. He is giving up nothing because he has no concept of money. Now he doesn't have to do anything or answer to anybody, except "God," which he can and does contort to suit any situation. Be it a Beyonce concert, or anything else he might not want to face. He can use it to attack, and he can use it to skirt responsibility. Maybe If he wasn't so privileged and immature, he'd understand how much impact his platform could have, simply by serving others, a tenor of almost all organized religions and philosophies. (Hello Marcus...)

Looking forward to seeing the difference he can make that outweighs $10 million to starving children.

Good. Luck. Truly. I hope this 21-year-old kid understands the selfishness at play here. The opportunity at play here, and I am not talking about the basketball opportunity.

Well, the only thing any of us knows is that for his beliefs he has left about 4 million on the table this year. Say what you will about what he could have done with it, in his mind, he felt he needed to give up that $4 million to follow Jesus whatever the reason (perhaps to get himself right and ridding himself of that rumored p*rn addiction?). Whether he is right or wrong about Beyonce that's between her and God, but I know I have not given up $4 million dollars worth of anything (I don't make that kinda of money), or my entire career to follow what he believes is right for him.

If you haven't give up that kinda money for your beliefs perhaps you should keep judging how people eat their steaks instead, eh?
