Because its such a crap shot selecting a player straight out HS.....only Bron/Amare showed out day one rookie yr, Howard was decent but they are big size guys with freak athleticism so transition was smoother than guards who make the leap, regardless of where they are being selected out of HS I Am not comparing Green to TMac(better prospect coming out) as who is better yr 1/2 or what not.....but the flash they both showcased, and Green just had more minutes early on than Tmac, but the ''star potential'' was there and by year 4 Tmac & Kobe took off Its up to Green (and the rest core7) to show up n out, but especially the first two picks that set off the rebuild who are due for extensions TBD
Most of us already and for a long time know what he does best......and it is good to see that D is not total bust. He is a quicker than Joker on recovery and perimeter. That is why they traded for Steven Funaki. Reminds me of Harden who was the opposite, bad perimeter defender but good post defender however he was a guard.
I am so, so pleased with Jalen Green's maturity and growth exhibited in some of these responses. He is 100% focused on being a solid player EVEN if the shots are not falling. Making the right play, defending, rebounding, etc. Awesome stuff.
If that free throw jumper is going to be used with intent this season it will help his overall game. Looks fluid and in control. Good stuff!
Just from those few clips it looks like hes playing with better pace and more under control. Really excited to see how he looks in extended time in a game setting.
If Jalen needs the ball in his hands to be effective, that isn't conducive to winning a championship - as he is not really a spread the ball kind of guy....I want to see more of him off the ball.... He clearly wants the MAX but if that is the case, and someone other than us will pay the MAX best to trade him before the trade deadline....IMHO. DD
Are SGA and Ant "off ball guys"? Guys who created elite separation off the dribble and force defenses to collapse, a competent head coach can create part of a offensive system based off the dribble separation. You don't waste elite dribble separation like Green has to resort a talent like that "off ball".
Jalen isn't as good as either of them but yes, they can both play off the ball too.......SGA is also a PG, Jalen is not. Jalen is not elite at separation - and has to play fast to take advantage, he doesn't have a lot of wiggle or hasn't maybe this year he has developed it. DD
Green has probably some of the best separation and best wiggle of any player in the league. His apology to manipulate screens off the dribble like rejecting screens, splitting traps etc is near Ja Morant level. Green is like that cat that squeezes in between the door frame and floor. Very adapt at slithering through right spaces with an live dribble. I also understand you are saying things specifically to create engagement and banter as you know "Jalen isn't elite at creating separation" is a "come at me and get triggered because I need attention" take.
You got what you desired. Engagement. You need a woman in your life so you don't have to resort to specifically fine tuning the content you type on a message board based on maximizing attention seeking there than just expressing sincere thoughts. If you work on your self like diet, exercise etc you'll become more sincere in this message board because you won't see it as a place to create attention but instead just a place to express sincere thoughts. You know arguing that Jalen Green is bad at creating separation is a silly take you don't believe in. Jalen Green making his shots from said separation is the issue. Him not seeing the roaming help defender about to block his shot because he assumes the coast is clear because he beat his initial defender is the issue. Creating separation has never been Green's issue. It's the one trait he's elite at
You don't need to carry on the crusade, KPJ's on the Clippers, you can go support him over there, he's not a Rocket any more.
