Paramount Pictures launched the first trailer for its animated feature “Transformers One” this morning by sending the live-stream into space. Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry, who voice Optimus Prime and Megatron respectively, appeared and introduced the clip with the trailer and intro visible below. The film explores the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, better known as sworn enemies, but once were friends bonded like brothers who changed the fate of Cybertron forever. It marks the first-ever fully CG-animated Transformers movie with the voice cast also including Scarlett Johansson as Elita, Keegan-Michael Key as Bumblebee, Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime, Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion and Steve Buscemi. The film is directed by Josh Cooley with a script penned by Andrew Barrer, Steve Desmond, and Gabriel Ferrari. Lorenzo di Bonaventura produces the animated prequel which could serve as the start of a potential trilogy. “Transformers One” is slated for a nationwide release on September 12th. https://www.darkhorizons.com/first-trailer-transformers-one/ I've heard about this for a while, guess I was expecting something closer to tone of the recent Netflix series especially with the voice cast but this is definitely shooting for a younger demo....
"Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry, who voice Optimus Prime and Megatron respectively" hhhmmmmmm interesting Rocket River Very Interesting
i dont know what i was expecting. but I'm kind of disappointed. looks like a better version of that Transformers animated show that was on that old station The Hub.
But that's also the difficulty. I'm a gen-X'er and...if I had seen this when I was a kid, I probably would have loved it..... ...but I'm not a kid.... and so.... I don't. Now, you might say that it's not meant for an adult like me... ok... but I don't think the kids of today will see any appeal in this at all.
The quality of the toys is what keeps this going... And Megan Fox. but honestly, the transformer story itself is not all that interesting. They did a good job with original cgi for the autobots and they made the movie fun, but the plot was a dud and remains a dud. They need to reinvent the story.
Caught an early screening this past Saturday, didn't expect much and left pretty impressed. The story is fairly well done and they do a great job of setting up why D-16 ultimately becomes Megatron. Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry are really good doing the voice work, Scarjo does what she does with only Keegan-Michael Key's Bumblebee getting a bit grating since he serves as the comic relief. I've been Transformers fan since I was a kid in the 80s, this movie is probably right under the 86 movie for me, I was blindside by how good it was..... B+
Just took my wife and kids to see this and the entire family loved it. It had some really great action sequences and laugh out loud funny moments. I highly recommend it for both kids and adults. I haven't enjoyed an animated film like that since Spiderman Into the Spider-verse. It's got really good critic and audience reviews for a reason.
dam i am excite. when will it drop on prime? also i will never understand cartoons with star studded voice actors. they can literally just hire anyone that can read for cheap.
Name recognition, makes it easier to sell the movie if you have known stars to promote it. That being said, I'm surprised this movie hasn't done better at the Box Office with the star power behind the scenes and the fact that the movie is actually one of the better Tformers movies in general....
