Espada said before the game each of the leverage arms were going to get one appearance this series. The idea being I don’t think they wanted to have 7+ days in between appearances.
The recent Alverez update, sprained knee, now walking on treadmill. That doesn’t sound that encouraging for making starts for the WC series Anyone hear anything else?
I blame the Angels for not walking him that AB. They had no business pitching to him causing him to think he could beat out a double without sliding. Shame on them!
McTaggart or anyone reputable hasn't said it's unlikely he's off the WC roster. He just needs to be healthy enough to DH.
Postgame sure made it sound like McTaggart said it. Maybe it wasn't a specific tweet, and just a conversation, but postgame said McTaggart's sentiment was, "highly unlikely for WC". The inability to slide and a 17-27 1-run record have brought us here.
The words highly unlikely have been used for the odds he could play left field in the playoffs. That was talked about in his radio segment on 790 a few days ago.
Yeah, but I'm talking about last night after the game this was said. Maybe they're still referring to sentiments a few days ago, but it sounded like a more recent update and it wasn't just playing defense. Sad, I know --- and it honestly makes Dusty's sabotage last year even more infuriating.
He said it on his weekly appearance yesterday on AM 790 during the pregame show. He was just giving his opinion
It wasn't just about LF. He was referring to him playing at all. For Yordan to DH, he would need a couple days of baseball activities which he has not started yet. He's only done light treadmill and weights so far
#1 seed still in play for Cleveland with a win today and tomorrow and a Yankees loss tomorrow. Judge getting into playoff form...
Does anyone have the stats on the number of Maldy at-bats with runners in scoring position and he did nothing (except GIDP or strike out, etc) during the playoffs?
Detroit seems to be resting players today. It seems to me that Hinch is fine facing the Astros in the WC and then Cleveland (instead of Balt/NYY). I wouldn't put it past him if he flat out preferred it that way.
