People like @basso have trouble articulating basic sentences or need validation before posting something benign for example, he thinks Wendy’s is great, but lacks the confidence to say so. So he’ll post a teeet of someone else saying it
I do and I remember twitter used to look like that for me and then I saw a tweet about clicking the "..." to set the feed to date order instead of the algorithm. I can't find an option now to switch off the date order. There is a Following tab and a For you tab for me. The For You tab is like you describe and maybe since you don't have an account that's what you are getting. That place is a cesspool. My Following tab is neatly in order with just the sports, weather, and news accounts I follow.
You do sue the telephone company if they were complicit in the mass text campaign. If they advertise that they have the capacity to run mass campaigns, they provide the mechanisms to do so, they are aware that the phone system is being abused , and make no effort to stop it. Then yes, the phone company is very much on the hook for liability. Same reason why parents of kids that shoot up schools are sometimes held responsible. The parent didn't pull the trigger ...but they enabled the entire situation. Anyway, we can agree to disagree. Let's check back in about 5 years and see how the world responds. I believe people are starting to see this new technology was way ahead of the legislation and folks will start mandating (spoiler: they already are) more transparency and more responsibility. Hopefully that'll make twitter less of a hellscape, if it's even around by then, and maybe I'll use it.
I fear you may be right, things are certainly trending towards authoritarianism and the constitution and the courts are the only thing standing in the way... and they are both primary targets for destruction that may fall in the next few years. You can vote your way into extremist authoritarian rule... but you can't vote your way out of it. That might be an overly bleak outlook, but many are cheering that future on under the guize of enhanced safety and security.
Ugh, if signing up is the only way I can get **** to sort like a normal human being, I just may make an account.
Twitter's comment section is mostly trash nowadays. It was never all that good, but it's not like I want to sit there and argue with a bunch of single-celled organisms fighting bots and bots fighting bots. I do tend to agree with that one video where the guy's getting politics shoved down his throat even though he never interacted with political stuff. I have an account I've never posted on and only follow science, financial, and Rockets accounts from what I recall. Don't even care about politics for the most part. I never comment on anything, but ... here come all the political (Democrats, Republicans, Anarchist, CryptoRepublicAnarchiBaptistSAHMBigBootyHoes and Elon stuff. lol. I was going to introduce my mom to Twitter at one point. But, naah... she'd ground me. With all that being said, I still love Twitter for the breaking news and info of the actual account that I find and/or follow. Love, love, love it. I don't know if there are any other social media outlets or sites that can compare. The closest would be Reddit forums, but unlike Twitter, I generally can have actual conversations on Reddit forums I'm on.
I seriously doubt he made $5.7B on that deal, but willing to be proven wrong. The dude was a founder, but was only probably a 1/3 owner in Broadcast.com. His bigger fame was that it was, from what I recall, an all-stock deal with Yahoo and he dumped almost all the Yahoo stock before the DotCom bubble exploded. If you consider him a 1/3 owner (which I also don't think is entirely correct), he probably made around $1+ billion via the Yahoo stock. He originally paid a few thousand for his share of the company. Let's also not forget he made $2-$3 billion or so via the Mavs sale and still owns basketball operations of the team (lol) and part ownership (wth).
I still don't get why members who frequent and start threads in the D&D use random ass X tweets from random ass people on X as sources
i do stand corrected. He made around 1.4B (although still not clear) in stock option. He has 4.5x his growth over the last 25 years.
It'd look better if you count the fact his first BIG sale was the company he founded called MicroSolutions that he sold in the early 90s for a couple million dollars and he's now worth $5 billion+. I hate the Mavs, but I'm not going to hate on Cuban other than his in-League antics for the most part. Anybody that can come from being "not wealthy" to what he's done and do it legally, is pretty amazing. He's got good business sense from what I can tell, anyway.
I liked Cuban back when he picked up the Mavs. He seemed like a down to earth guy who was living out his dreams. However somewhere along the way, it seemed the 3 comma club wasn't enough. I would like him more if he was creating instead of running VC scams.
Mark Cuban pharmacy is big and making huge waves. I think it’ll be his biggest mark** Has done dumb things but he’s a shrewd businessman
