I didn't realize Daniels led the league in completion percentage before tonight. I'm impressed. 21/23 is freaking amazing for a rookie.!!!! Man, I'm glad he's not in our division.
Before this weekend, Bengals thought they had an automatic win at Carolina in week 4. If tonight was their idea of a desperation game (esp the defense), they are in deep trouble. Excluding the two possessions where they ran out the clock at the end of each half, the Commanders scored 5 TDs & 1 FG in their 6 possessions. I like to make fun of Kliff as much as anyone, but he deserves a lot of credit for how comfortable Jayden Daniels looks out there.
He's got some quicks for sure. What I like most is that he seems to understand WHEN to run. Picking up a fresh set of downs with your legs is such a weapon. I wish CJ did a little more of that. It demoralizes a defense. Giving the keys of a pro style Air Raid offense to these Kyler/Jayden types probably keeps defenders up at night.
It looks like Washington has their own CJ Stroud with Jayden Daniels. Caleb Williams might be this years Bryce Young too...
I would tap the brakes on both of those ideas. It’s a long season for Jayden Daniels and Caleb is already far past Bryce Young. It’s cool that CJ is now the standard for rookie QBs.
It's hard to dismiss a guy like Daniels with such high accuracy. Leading the entire league in a skill like that is more impressive to me than just passing yards.
No telling. He's been sacked less than half as much as Stroud so far. Honestly, I'm more worried about Stroud and the rest of our guys being able to stay healthy this year. Mixon lasted 2 games. Tank lasted 3. I hope we can play Sunday without anyone else getting injured.
NFL needs to do something about these flags man. Every single play that happens, you have to check the flag to see if it counted. Does the NFL realize that this hurts their product?
I don’t remember Motor have this fumbling problem with us. What playing for the Giants does to a MFer.
If Giants receivers catch 2 3rd down passes that hit them in the damn hands on their last 2 drives, they win this game.
Man thats a tough question. I've been a CJ fan for a while. Was really high on him when he got to OSU. With that said my personal preference to have a QB that can move and get you yards with his legs would steer me to say yes. Granted what WAS and Klingsbury are doing with Jayden is brilliant. They are spoon feeding him easy looks and allowing him to get initiated with concepts he already knows and not putting too much on his plate. CJ came into the NFL averaging 40 throws per game through 3 contests while Jayden is only having to throw it about 25 times. I enjoy CJs accuracy and ability to diagnose. Not sure where Jayden ends up in terms of reading a defense and being accurate over longer stretches, but so far he's at 80% accuracy through his first 3 games which is pretty absurd. End of day if QBs share attributes I'll probably always side with the dual threat.
