Yes - he apparently has the Haitian card to play in his back pocket. He seems to have an odd hatred of Haitians. Anyone that is familiar with the history of Haiti, and the current conditions in Haiti would know it was inevitable that it would struggle due to some measures. I really do not get the overall significance of Haitian in the wider USA.

About 45% of foreigners who are here illegally have overstayed their visa. Overstaying visas is a growing problem, outpacing illegal border crossings in recent years. Haitians are a convenient target given they cross a lot of lines in the culture wars. They are black, immigrants, and come from one of the World’s poorest country. The country was also one of the first country to overthrow colonialism but has been exploited and even occupied by foreign powers.
In a Trump speech last night that was supposed to be on the economy he claimed that Springfield, OH now has 32,000 Haitians. The real number is under 20,000 but he's been increasing the number ever speech he gives. At this point he'll be claiming the town is all Haitians.

That is one of Trump's play. He isn't going to get many women to vote for him - the nail in the coffin on that demographic was selecting Vance and his Handmaid's Tale fetish.... Trump can pick off young men though, and he can use immigration/Haitian stories to get blue collar workers to fear competition and vote for him.... like Ashton Kucher in this video shows.
Which is fair in theory, but I don't like the idea of a Cadre of young unemployed man-children getting riled up over outside threats by a political party. We prob need real solutions to bridge that gap rather than closing our berders and gitting Jina Jerbs back stateside...and into Mexico.
There are multiple reasons for this, I think. We may have discussed it 100 pages ago, lol. I think legitimate factors are: racism, focusing on something more visually tangible like border crossers vs dispersed plane arrivals, and poverty. If you can get a visa, you at least have some money or are connected to somebody. You're border crossing because you're broke, running from something (maybe it qualifies for asylum), and have no connections to the US. So while racism I think is a factor, it may not be for everyone as there are other factors too.
The mayor has claimed it's around 12-15k. The original number they threw isn't backed by any source they've given.
We need a chart on the lies Trump tells about numbers. Crowd size = divide by 10 Hatian immigrants = divide by 2 Etc.
Those other factors would also be bias too. There are plenty of people who come here in tourist visas who have no connection to people.
