El Salvador releasing it's prisoners and psychos to come to the U.S. illegally. Salvy's parents illegally coming from El Salvador to have an anchor baby. Coincidence? Trump might be onto something.

El Salvador has to realize that Trump isn't your friend. He'll burn you just to score points.

Big picture hypo: for those who emigrated from failing countries to the US on asylum for reasons like crime, should that be conditional on crime continuing to be a problem? Now that El Salvador is much better (whether it's due to locking criminals up or like Trump said, sending them all here), should US policy revoke asylum status to anyone from El Salvador who came to the US to escape MS-13? Many are voluntarily returning.

Salvador is becoming one of the best countries in central America safety wise, wouldn't be surprised if some Americans (retirees) started moving there like they do to Argentina. About 60k Americans live in Buenos Aires

Yes, many Americans live abroad in other countries. We have exchange rate and cost of living benefits. The long article I linked in the previous page stated that El Salvadorians are doing just that.

I'm wondering, if someone's official reason for emigrating to the US is "running from crime" like MS-13, then a bigger policy goal should be for the US government to be real allies with Bukele type dictators (no American style rights, but at least gangs aren't running the country). We could see a reverse migration trend like El Salvador. Perhaps temporary asylum could be revoked and people would be happy to return.

Yea it makes sense, I think an average pay a month in Argentina is like $400. So if your SS is $1500 or more, you can live decently over there, but would be struggling in the USA. Plus Argentina is like 80% white :D

It is a fair question, although I wonder how practical it is. The longer asylum seekers are here, the harder it is to return them home - assuming they will be allowed to return home.

I personally would not move to El Salvador at this point. While it is far safer than in the past, I am skeptical that El Salvador will not have serious issues in the next decade. Also - that region of the world has a history of instability and drastic swings.

I know a few people that have retired to Mexico - and as much as I love Mexico, I would not live there as an old person. Even in Mexico there are drastic shifts in where is it safe and not safe and corruption at the local and national level is a concern.

Agreed, Argentina, Uruguay n Phillipines are where its at, but I'm sure some people will consider El Salvador (if it continues on this path), because of the flight (length of it). The first 3 countries are still 9+ hours of a flight.

The woke crowd always ruined shiit for everyone else. What the normies need to do now is to punch them in the mouth and shut them up. They are outnumbered but they know most decent people will put up with their bullshiit.

Yes, there's a time element, so maybe no deportation for those who have been granted permanent residency. What about temporary status and pending asylum due to violence? Of course, the easiest method is to support El Salvador's continued success in gaining control from the gangs, as it's much easier for people to voluntarily return as opposed to having mass round-ups.

This model can be copied to other states. If we're just choosing who to play nice with based on democracy, then China is just going to fill the power vacuum in Latin America. If we truly care about stopping the migration of the poorest from numerous failing countries, then we need more Bukeles down there and to help those like him.

Also, WTF is going on in this thread? It's about El Salvador and a bunch y'all are just weird spam bots or something.

Alot of people I know and family are already considering moving back, even my parents are considering just living over there... I enjoy going every year, possibly I'll be going next month..... El Salvador has changed radically, I never thought I'd see the day so much industry would start pouring into the country. I never thought we would have an influential president or that MS13 would be completely destroyed. If you told me this would happen in 2016 I'd laugh.... The country is growing at a very rapid pace, I do think more and more people are thinking about business ventures... Hell my dad the other day was already throwing up ideas on what could work..... I'm excited to see where El Salvador is 5 years from now, countries taking care of their corrupt politicians and criminals is the best way to avoid immigration to the U.S....
