I guess the good news then is they have really low odds to make the post season at this point - something like 3%
People didn't forget. People didn't value defense in a corner OF spot and didn't value getting on base over slugging from a corner OF spot back then. Even today, people still don't value defense that much.
He’s third on the team in OPS+ and Win Probability Added (behind Tucker and Alvarez) and tied for 5th in WAR with Diaz (Bregman and Peña’s defense pull them ahead). Yeah he hasn’t been as dominant as some of his best seasons, but I wonder if there may be some selective memory. He’s been pretty impactful.
I really hope we go out there and just beat the sh*t out of the mariners. Crush their playoff hopes after they blew that 10 game lead. we need momentum going into the playoffs
I don't know if you've been watching for the better part of the last decade but there is no team any of us should ever be afraid of when it comes to playoff time. We play who we play and I trust that we'll win. I don't hate you. I don't know you. I just don't respect any a**hole who comes on to an Astros board and puts that extra "s" in the name like a f***ing child who just learned how to cuss.
I don't expect to win any friends with my silly rants, but I sure do get frustrated any time the Mariners get near a playoff spot. I am quite sure that none of the posters here have ever hated a professional sports franchise. You and all the others know that ain't true. My hatred extends to the Mariners and I always want to see them eliminated from the baseball playoffs. It is really simple. Yeah, I am a first class ahole with my rants when the Mariners win and are still alive for a playoff spot. But, that doesn't change the fact that I hate their franchise and do not want to see them anywhere near the Astros in the first round of the playoffs. It's that simple, believe it, or not.
Say what you want, but here is the truth, plain and simple. I hate the Mariners and never want them to succeed. I am not a Mariner fan. I hate them with a passion. I am a first class ahole for posting the rants I posted when the Astros lost the first game of the series, but I hated seeing the Mariners get one game closer to a division title; or a playoff spot. They are still alive for a playoff spot and the Astros can help deny them that by winning today, if they aren't too hungover. A Mariner loss today means that KC and Detroit are one game closer to nailing the last two spots and eliminating the Mariners for 2024. Then, all the pressure will be off until 2025 for me. So, call me a Mariner fan. You cannot be further from the truth. Call me a Mariner hater. That would be spot on.
