Seems like all his attempts at branching out have flopped and the core business isn't nearly as popular as it was a few years ago -- just constant content fluff that's easy to ignore.
He could've cashed out a couple years ago with an app that spits out weekly wallpapers of ugly ass monkeys.
I have yet to meet someone that: 1. Changes their phone wall paper monthly 2. Spends more than a few seconds looking at their phone wallpaper 3. Uses something other than a factory default or personal photo as their wallpaper This thing also costs more than a Spotify or Netflix subscription.

Honestly who cares, this sounds like an excuse for people who already hated him to pile on. If you don't like the app, don't download it. No one is forcing you to. I like MKBHD, although his reviews have gotten less and less informative over time. He has declined in quality, but I won't hate on him for creating this app. Could it have been better? Sure, but he has a right to release a crappy app if he wants to.
