Do you see a core shift in party policies and principles? Unions is just one thing. Democrats have shifted from the a few positions but completely focusing on the WF.

 

I don’t know what you mean by “WF” but no I don’t see a core shift. The Democrats are still supporting pro union laws while Republicans including Trump are supporting union visiting laws. Relevant to this thread Trump congratulated Musk for firing striking workers. Trumps appeal among the worker class is larger due to image and protectionist but most of his policies are not pro worker. That is why most unions including teamster chapters are still supporting Democrats and while the national teamsters didn’t Harris they didn’t endorse Trump either.

If we don't learn the technology that allows us to distinguish between real and fake it is game over for civilized society.

 

If you build a system expecting users to know what digital signatures are, you've already failed. I'm optimistic that this can be addressed, and this is coming from someone who started the 'AI is an existential threat to humanity' thread (which it is). This is a huge problem, but we actually have even bigger ones.

 

Humanity survived just fine thousands of years w/out videos. If you need authenticity, just ask the person.

Yes we have a lot of problems. What makes AI such a pernicious problem so that it can make many of our problems much worse. Also like some of our new problems we don’t really understand how it works and all the implications of it.
