jake man, take your time and give your closer some time to warm up instead of swinging at the fuggin 1st pitch.

That's a new one Pena. Instead of swinging at a ball a foot off the plate, swings at a pitch that could have hit him

I don't know how he did it, but he managed to turn this game into a one run loss.

    Beautiful.

    Masterclass.

Team did everything to win this game. Bozos in the bullpen had other plans. It had been a minute since Neris and Hader got got so I'm not going to trip. I'll just pretend we won and Seattle won. Seattle staying hot!

Espada made some questionable moves today

Made no sense to not pitch Arrighetti the 7th inning with only 78 pitches thru 6.

Then, he pitched Neris for 6th game in 9 days.

All our leverage guys sucked today. They're probably all running on fumes.

If Hader just blows it by giving up a run or 2, we still win. He had to go full choke and implode.

I put the loss mainly on his shoulders.

That’s another reason we lost but also pretty common with this lineup.

With a Mariners loss, this became one of the most affordable losses for us this season (and to see their fight to almost pull it back out was impressive).

    Good signs

If Yordan plays the whole game we most likely win.

Games like this are why I don't see the Astros going far in the postseason. We just suck at winning close games...it's been an issue all season long. Partly due to Espada's mismanagement of the pitching staff and partly due to one (or more) of Hader, Pressly, Abreu and/or Neris pitching like crap.

Arrighetti absolutely should've pitched the 7th inning and perhaps even gone into the 8th (assuming an efficient 7th).

Nope, Yordan game #1 WC game, guaranteed. I looked over the tape 25 times and he looks good to me. I'm an expert at these things ;)
