Saw VERY short blurbs on channel 13 and channel 2 tonight from the Rockets. The only quotes were from Mo Taylor who said that it was a little weird realizing he was one of the guys with the longest tenure with the Rockets and from T-Mac who said that JVG stressed defense heavily in the first practice and that he is excited and really learning a lot because JVG is a really great teacher.

Wow hes been here since 2000-2001 and hes the longest tenured? What happend to the days when a team drafted a player, the fans love the player, and the player retires in the same uniform.

Depends on Van Gundy's philosophy. I would let Jimmy, Yao and Tmac be co-captains. But if Jeff wants to make it a seniority thing then its only Jim Jackson. I don't think giving it only to Yao would be a good idea, if Yao is going to get it, so should Tmac. No need in creating any unnesscary rift before the season even starts.

You might just be talking about today. Yao Ming.

    Well, hopefully so!
(looks like Reggie Miller will be the last of this type.. look at Peja, even guys like him is acting like contemporary american players! but it's good for him watever he chooses, one can only blame webber.)

no ones a captain, it's a meaningless label that some teams put on their players but i don't think the rockets do it.

It may not mean what is once did, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it "meaningless". I mean it's obviously your perogative, I just don't agree.

Ya, he was. But not officially. I remember JVG saying that he didn't like the idea of team captains, therefore, refusing to put a "C" on jerseys like a lot other teams did last season.
