Astros 73-46 in their last 119 games. That's an on pace avg of a 99 win season. A win tomorrow and that pace is 100 wins. Most wins since May 8: 73 Astros 70 Dbacks 68 Padres 68 Mets 67 Brewers 66 Dodgers 66 Guardians 66 Phillies 66 Dodgers 62 Orioles 62 Braves 62 Tigers 60 Royals 60 Twins 60 Mariners
Win next 2 and take the division. Then with Seattle demoralized, win two more and likely pull within 3 of Cleveland. Then take 3 from Cleveland. So all we have to do is go 7-0 and Cleveland loses 1 of the next 3. Easy
Seattle isn't going to be demoralized with the Astros taking the division. They're just 1.5 games out of the wild card.
Tucker is the only batter this season to have consecutive 4 hit games in which both games also featured a HR.
Exactly, we need to make sure they don't make the playoffs. That team sucks. They don't own the tiebreaker vs either Minnesota or Detroit. They do own it vs KC. KC is 2 games clear but have lost 6 straight games. There is a very real scenario that Detroit and Seattle make the playoffs and the Twins and Royals are out.
Seattle is a scary team if they start clicking. Their offense has been anemic but their pitching might be the best in the league. Much rather the royals or twins get in
Let's help them out by sweeping them the next series. Making it more interesting for them to watch and pray for other teams to help them. This is the type of thing we need heading into the playoffs....Tucker and Alvarez both hitting their strides.
But the Astros have 3 games against them. . . If the Astros can win 2 of those 3 games they clinch the AL West regardless of the other 4 games remaining. Then. . . 2 of the following must happen. Twins need 4 total wins or Mariner losses. Tigers need 4 total wins or Mariner losses. Royals need 4 total wind or Mariner losses. Mariners: 1 vs Tex and 3 vs Oak. Twins: 1 vs Bos, 3 vs Mia, 3 vs Bal. Tigers: 1 vs Bal, 3 vs TB, 3 vs ChW Royals: 1 vs SF, 3 vs Was, 3 vs Atl. None of those teams play each other and each of them have 3 games vs a cupcake that should equal at least 2 wins. The Mariners are still alive, but have the hardest remaining schedule, considering the A's are not cupcakes at the moment.
Seattle doesn’t own the tiebreaker against KC. They tied the season series and the next tiebreaker goes by intradivision record, which KC currently owns thanks to the White Sox. I believe if Seattle sweeps us they will then own it but anything short of that means Seattle owns no tie breakers.
Took my cousin's kid ( 8 years old) to his first baseball game. He had a blast - a perfect match to take him with all the scoring.
Their ballpark is making their pitching look better than it actually is and vice versa with their offense. Road: 4.23 ERA Home: 2.84 ERA Their offense actually is 12th in the MLB with a 103 wRC+ which is a measure that adjusts for park factor. On the road, they are above average in runs scored so that tracks. Meanwhile, their pitching is around MLB average on the road along with their hitting. This explains why they are hovering around .500. They are an average team.
I remember how dangerous Backe and McCullers were on home games... mere mortals in away games but in playoff scenarios, can fine tune these things.
Yes finally, Astros get favored in a game by the umps. I bet the umps just want the game to end already.
I really hope Spaghetti gets boiled at the perfect temperature before draining his noodles. Maybe dash some oil on him before the game with a hint of salt and.... *nevermind, went too far* F it, "Let's pound their ass through Christ"
