    UT vs OU !

I have just finished watching the UT vs. Baylor game, and it is clear to me that UT is a good team, but still below OU.

Their offense is predictable, they run Benson a lot. This will not work against OU, because they will key on this, and I don't think Vince Young can pass well enough to beat OU.

For some reason UT just looks average, they beat teams because they have superiour talent but when they face teams of like talent, they are exposed.

I hope I am wrong, but with the experienced QB that OU has, I think OU romps again.

    :(

It pains me to agree, but I must... for us to have a chance in the OU game, somethings are really gonna have to go right for us and wrong for them.

But like DaDa, I would absolutely loooooooove to be proved wrong, I just can't get my hopes up at this point...

I heard that OU did not look so good against Tech today, maybe I am relying too much on past history.

OU isn't what they were last year, but UT isn't either. I think it will be a more competitive game, but that isn't saying much.

The receivers had some drops, but other than that the offense played well...White only had 150 yards but he had 3 TDs 0 INTs...Peterson looked great again with 22 rushes for 148 and 1 TD. Cumbie was better than I thought, the Tech offense held the ball for long periods of time...

The defense held Texas Tech to 13 points, they played fine...

As usual, I'll support my Horns this year, but to make things interesting, I'm placing $250 on the Sooners to cover. That way at least I recoup some of my ticket and hotel fees for next weekend.

Uhhh...hasn't OU lost two of their better defensive players over the past two weeks? I think Benson will run wild over the Sooners...

That's it? That's your entire reasoning?

I'll admit, the game should be closer this year, but I don't quite have that feeling of nervousness as in past seasons. I hope this isn't cockyness or overconfidence, but it probably comes off that way.

I am a lot more optimstic than in year's past. Why? UT's interior running game looks much better and OU's defense doesn't look as solid.

UT must win the trenches to win this game, I think they might. I have not seen the point spread, I'd guess OU by 6 or something, but I'd lean towards Texas with the points if I were placing a bet.

Also, KSU and LSU showed how to beat them. VY and Benson being effective on the ground first, then only expect to be effective passing off play action or broken plays. If OU forces us into long yardage frequently, it could be ugly.

The key player may be Adrian Pederson. Is he in over his head and will he make big mistakes in his 1st real game (key fumbles or misreads where White get's blasted), or does he lead OU in breaking open the floodgates.

Again, I don't think it will be the missmatches of year's past, I feel like it will be close.

The problem as I see it is the lack of a pass rush by UT, unless Robinson has been holding back some cool blitzes, UT could get killed by crossing patterns.

We really need to send DJ on the blitz more often. I believe we only have one sack this whole season. Unacceptable, especially considering the teams we have played thus far.

The key to this game is Ced/Vince getting 250 yards on the ground. Lofty goal, but I think it's necessary.

    LOL

I would love to see UT beat OU, but I honestly don't see it happening again with Mack Brown as head coach and Greg Davis as the OC. Bring in Spurrier and things would definitely be different.

Greg Davis has totally revamped the offense to fit their quarterback's talent and they are one of the top rushing offenses in the nation. They are about to have their second Heisman winner in 6 years. To say that they don't have a good offense is ridiculous and tired.

I don't know if UT players have the same mentality like you UT fans, but it certainly suprise me that UT fans have this much collective pessimism.

I don't think we have a snowball's chance in hell...
