The problem with "wanting Caratini's bat in there" is that he is much better hitting LH than RH, so playing he or Diaz at 1b keeps Singleton on the bench vs RHP and doesn't benefit the lineup vs LHP.

Love to see JV getting strike outs again. Those last few starts were brutal to watch.

 

I know. So maybe he should just be the backup catcher and DH when we could use an extra LH bat.

If it's vs a LHSP then Diaz plays 1b.

If it's vs a RHSP Diaz is DH, Singleton at 1b, and Yordan plays LF.

Vic has also been a good PH in late innings, especially vs RHP.

It's a shame none of the guys that can play CF hit vs RHP.
