My family is half made up of Christians from the Middle East.

Most Christians in the Middle East don’t like Iran or Israel. They have a strong distrust of radical Muslims but also know Israel causes problems as well.

The USA can offer migration for some of the more marginalized groups in the Middle East - but that is as far as we should go. Contrary to what some believe, we are not Israel and their interests are their own.

We should stay out of it.

The issue here in this logic is the fact is if we want allies with Europe, it's not a "We will" type of decision. The EU countries all want nothing to do with a Europe that is neighboring a newly reformed corrupt dictatorship of the USSR 2.0. All of those USSR countries like Lithuania, Moldova, and especially Ukraine now will never accept leaving the EU in order to be under the thumb of not just a brutal dictatorship, but a brutal dictatorship whose economy absolutely sucks.

So no ... WE don't get to speak on behalf of Europe to tell Putin anything because the US doesn't run the EU, and needs a friendly EU to the United States more than they need stability in the Middle East which has never been stable since the dawn of man.

The Middle East is going to be unstable regardless of what happens with Iran. Iran is a threat mostly because they are a country that has internal conflict and an identity crisis that then makes one side take aim at perceived external threats as a scapegoat in order to retain power. Sound familiar??

Iran needs a political solution in order for the region and the West to feel secure from that threat. There's no military solution with Iran that doesn't make things worse for the world. Taking harsher military action only unites the Iranians more, and reinforces their need for action against Israel, and the West.

The US could learn a thing or two from Russia on the power of influence, and how much ROI you can get from utilizing social media, etc. with Iran. Russia has attacked us through propaganda and injecting hate into our veins. The US has the same, and probably better capabilities to influence the Iranian population from a place of good. Use our power to influence a positive and peaceful vision with the West like most of their citizens under 50 want. Make the hard liners in charge as politically unpopular as possible.

And use the power we have with Israel to regain the moral high ground from freaking Netanayhu who is actively working against any possibility of peace. Netanyahu is like twice as unpopular in Israel as Bush was in 2007 here in the US for good reason. It's unsustainable for him to stay in power if Israel is to be a democracy moving forward, and our ally in the region. we cannot dictate who the Israeli people elect, but we can use our military supplies to dictate how they use our weapons and intelligence.

This is not the chest beating KICK A$$ solution that right wingers here in America want, but the truth is the long game is the way to go if your position is ultimately getting to peace, and prosperity. The MAGA right wing solution here only gets America in another unpopular war, and gets another Barrack Obama elected when right wing leaders get us into another war just to appease the chest beating MAGA hoards.

    ....

But yeah respectfully though... "allowing" Russia to reform the USSR is nonsensical. It's not our call even if Biden today called Putin and said "I officially allow you to reform the USSR." That's not something the US can just declare, and make happen even if we wanted to. That would literally take American soldiers deployed to Lithuania, Moldova, and Ukraine ON BEHALF of the Russian government to help RUSSIA enforce this new alliance.

    It's nonsensical.

Nope the USA should not take in other people's problems - but we should also stop funding Israel.

I was wondering how these things blew up, some sort of phreaking attack that caused a high frequency that caused the battery to overheat and explode?

Then I read that this was a deep operation and they all had explosives implanted in them then sold to Hezbollah ops. This is some Soviet-era James Bond ****. Regardless of your opinion of the why or who, you have to marvel at the intricacy and magnitude of the operation.

Not just the pagers and walkie talkies...any electronic device...lol lol lol

That's what happens when stone age inbred Islamofascists try to genocide some of the smartest people on the planet (the Jews).

    FAFO

The Islamists need to go back to carrier pigeons...and I am sure the Mossad would figure something out for that, too.

We live in an age of where terrorism is being normalized. At this point you can say yeah this is great that Hezbollah members died. Guess what, this strategy will be picked up by other state actors with deep pockets and will replicate this with a rogue party carrying it out and we will have to accept it as a norm. We live in a global supply chain system, this is terrible news. I hope we learn to live together in peace but seems like morals are diminishing by the day. We only care for our own tribe, sad.

Copycat violence is nothing new. The urge to do harm is as old as our species. Hey, someone took over a plane? Boom, everyone is doing it in the 70s all the way up to 9/11. Serial killers are glamorized, studied and revered in pop culture? Boom, borderline people guess they don't need to repress those insane feelings anymore. Someone shot up a bunch of kids in a school? Happens every week now. Someone tried to kill Trump? Yeah, that's a fad now, too.

Thing is, this is just IEDs on a different level. Now the less creative out there will do it, as you said.
