I still can’t believe that ****. I tuned in in the top of the 9th inning and saw some of the worst umpire trash I have ever seen in my years watching baseball over the course of 30 mins.

I have my opinions on Espada, which is a different discussion.. BUT I agree with him on his post game comments. There’s 4 umpires out there… you gotta know the rules. How do you miss stuff that obvious?

 

I have a lot of his auto rookie cards too, but to say he’s a GG level 2nd baseman is a stretch. I say that specifically due to the fact: he will never have a chance to prove it, if he doesn’t learn to hit big league pitching.

 

I never complain about referees or umpires as a rule. I think its tacky. They are dedicated individuals doing their best. It’s a fallen world. I don’t expect perfection out of anyone. Things move very fast at that level of sport and discerning things that maybe obvious to folks sitting at home isn’t necessarily the same for the umps. Give em lots of grace.

It’s still ridiculously stupid. At that point, he had thrown 15 balls out of 24 pitches and loaded the bases on two walks and a HBP. The fact it was a 3-0 count makes anything Altuve’s done on the bases look OK in comparison.

 

Neris may not be the "best" pitcher for leverage. But having a guy you know can handle the heat is huge for high stress games.

Save for the weird bunt loss in Oakland he's been absolute money.
