looks like we'll have to go for the sweep and just hope SF loses along the way.

Alright... lets get some runs now.

2 men on, only 1 out.

Remember... LA wants to win this just as badly as we want them to (they're not laying down or anything).

They win one, and they're in... don't have to worry about one game playoffs or anything.

Thus, lets get some positive mojo goin for LA... this is for the division Dodgers... take it, its yours!

hmm... maybe they don't want it as bad as I thought they did.

They let the pitcher hit with runners at 2nd and 3rd, and only 1 out.

But, its only the 5th inning... hopefully their great comeback ability will get to Tomko later on.

That was freaking pathetic by Izturis. Pop out to the catcher?

Cmon Dodgers! Get your sh*t together!

In no way are we hoping for a Giants sweep. We need them to lose at least one of these. If we win out and they lose 1, the WC is ours.

although that's the scenario for the wild card being solely ours right?

    no one game playoff?

Why didn't the Dodgers pinch hit for Alvarez? Jesus Christ! Is there some sort of Grady Little gene encoded on major league managers to screw up in big games?

Another question: if LA and San Francisco tie for the division, what happens to the wild card? Will there be two playoff games before the playoffs?

Maybe it is a conspiracy, both of them know they are both in if SF wins all the games.

Huh? not if the Astros win two more. Then, they both are very much not in... I doubt the Dodgers would take that gamble.

Well lets see. Only 5th inning and already into the the bullpen, gagne with his cortisone shot, nobody up in the pen. Basically alvarez was his best reliever to go more then one inning. Dont want to wear out your bullpen with Lima vs Scmidt tommorow. Either way its a tough call for a manager.

He's actually been quite good this past month.... he shut us down big-time over there.

Honestly, if the Giants are actually able to sweep a quality team on the road like the Dodgers (who are actually trying to win), then they probably do deserve to go to the playoffs.

But... they'll have to get thru the one-game playoff with us first. (after somehow winning yet another game against the Dodgers... that would be 4 in a row... highly unlikely... see 1980 Housto Astros).

Did they have the coin flip for a Dodgers/Astros WC scenario? I know if we play SF, it's there, but last I heard, there was no coin flip for Dodgers/Astros?

(Sorry if this has been posted somewhere already)

That is a TERRIBLE job by Tracy letting the pitcher bat there.

2 on, 1 out for the Blue Crew. Lets see if they can make a game out of this.

Dodgers finally knocked Tomko out (no runs yet) so maybe they can score here
