Biden called Trump after the assassination attempt. Democrats denounced political violence, as they consistently have. They asked for more funding for the Secret Service to protect Trump. Trump directly blamed Biden, Harris, the DOJ, the Court—pretty much everyone he perceived as his political rivals. It would be good to see everyone denounce political violence, whether it’s an attack on Trump, on Republicans, on Democrats, or on the Capitol. Trump stands alone as a politician who has not only failed to denounce political violence but has also incited it and mocked those impacted by it.
The way some of these people are worked up (DaDip$h!t specifically) you'd think Trump had his way with his wife or boyfriend.
What did you expect Biden and Kamala to say?.... "we support Trump assassination attempts." Biden and Kamala support violence against unborn children.
Harris has actually barely mentioned race. Her campaign strategy has been to avoid bringing up race or gender, because they know it’s a turn-off to certain segments of the population, especially Republicans they are trying to win over. I don’t remember her mentioning race or gender even once in her acceptance speech at the DNC.
Was Harris running when Trump said he'll do a "complete and total Muslim ban"? Trump has been targeting minorities/immigrants to strike fear and create anger since forever. One of the tenets of fascism: "Identification of enemies/scapegoats as a unifying cause" This is why he's like Hitler. "The Jews are the reason for all your problems"
I fully expected our leaders to unequivocally state that there is no room for political violence. That’s what Biden and Harris have consistently done. Trump recently refused to condemn the bomb threats and again mocked the political violence against Paul Pelosi. As you know, he also incited the violence against the Capitol. Your second statement is deeply troubling and dangerous. While 60+% of Americans support the right to an abortion, that does not equate to supporting violence against children.
Are you referring to the time when Trump questioned whether Harris is Black, or is it something else?
Kamala wasn't running in 2020 because she didn't make the cut within her own party. Now, she's suddenly God's gift to America. She's also done a 180 on certain aspects of immigration. She switched to Trump's side from 8 years ago.
I didn't say violence against children. I say a specific children. I also wonder what percentage of that 60% are talking about the <10% of extreme circumstances for abortion. When he asked/told she was black?
Trump's been doing this for 9 years. Same old racist playbook. The Muslim ban comment was in 2015. https://www.npr.org/2015/12/07/4588...and-complete-shutdown-of-muslims-entering-u-s
I have no doubt there are some people that want Trump “dead and gone”, but the overwhelming majority of people I have spoken to do not want him dead. I don’t want any President assassinated because it is terrible for the country, it’s traumatizing and has long term impacts that we cannot really know in the short term. Do I want Donald Trump to lose the election and go away? Yes I do, but we have a vote for that reason. My hope is that once Trump is gone, the explosive language and actions he tried so hard to normalize go away - but I am afraid that door may just be open now.
I'd like him to disappear but not as a martyr, choking on a KFC chicken bone or something of that nature would be fine by me but it isn't my call. He is just a symptom of the problem and not really the cause. Hell you know all of this anyways...
lol "I go back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical ******* like Nixon who wouldn't be that bad (and might even prove useful) or that he's America's Hitler."
