So my company was lucky enough to receive an invite to last night's function at the Toyota Center, which was pretty much a sales pitch for their suite packages. And I was lucky enough to get the passes passed down to me, so one of my coworkers and I went up to TC last night, primarily to see T-Mac, but also to check out how the "other half" lives. The suites are fine! If you ever get a chance to go to a game and hang out in the Lexus Suites, do it!!! On to T-Mac...very guarded...no one could get close to him at all. He was pretty much there to shake hands with the "special" people who were lucky enough to have a pass to get a signed basketball. I was in position for a few shots when he first arrived and took some more when he was handing out the balls. The ones here are the only pics that turned out OK. He did not speak to the crowd that was there and looked quite perturbed that he had to attend this function. (Sidenote: It was pretty funny when they were giving the tour of the Lexus Suites...the guide told us that T-Mac ended up buying Steve's old suite...out with the old, in with the new!!! )
The guy I went with also took some pics, but with a regular camera. Hopefully once he gets those developed I'll get to post a few more.
Hey the guy in the blue shirt is me...Is there any way I can get that picture emailed to me? I tried to get a picture with him on my digital camera...but it came out pretty bad due to all of the lighting. Thanks!!!
He did look like he didnt want to be there. I wouldnt either, he just got into town, and im sure he wanted to get situated. THen again he should have prepared and arrived earlier this week. Who knows...
I am pretty sure he is thinking about his home and family in florida. I read somewhere that his house was wrecked by hurricane jeanne.
I'm detecting a bit of sarcasm in that statement. Actually, the sales staff was pretty nice. They were all business though. The guys who were hanging around the Power Dancers were definitely enjoying themselves. (Sorry...I don't have any pics of them...don't flame me...I enjoy my marriage!!! )
I was actually suprised how up beat T-Mac appeared to be. In the picture I was extending my hand out...and he responded as if we had known each other for a long time. From what they announced before his appearance his home was damaged pretty bad by the Hurricanes...I think is says alot for the guy for him to show up & not just send signed balls. I asked him to throw it off the back board for one of his famous dunks in the first game...he smiled and said he would try.
I saw those too. The one on Swamp Pits forehead in the first pic kinda reminds me of the whole Aaron Nevil mole thing...
