Lol, yeah but Houston is still one of the places that I consider close. Weird indeed. That is like when you keep hearing about one team and one city for 30 straight years.
my wife is japanese, she trapped me here hahaha. Same for you? Yeah I started following the Rockets before their championships in the 90's, so it will be great to go to the place I have been following for all these years
That’s cool bro. No, I’m Japanese but grew up in Houston. Was there from late late 80’s to late 90’s. What are you doing for work?
Did you move back when you were a child or a little older I run my own childrens English school. I also coach mini basketball which is volunteer work. Cause no matter where you live in this world and you are a rockets fan, you gotta be hyped for this coming season. It is also the beautiful thing about sports, it unites people in a positive way *says the guy with the nickname AroundTheworld
I do, If you visited its probably a place you come for 1 or 2 days at most. It also depends what are your interests. Because there is soo many awesome places to visit in Japan not just the usual Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo.
We went to Tokyo for a week and Kyoto for a couple of days. We loved Tokyo (stayed next to Tokyo Tower) and Osaka was next on our list. I'm big into fighting games so I wanted to go to some locals there and my wife is into bouldering so she was going to look for a bouldering gym. Also wanted to see Sapporo and go snowboarding there but that's way north and not sure what else is up there.
Sadly Arcades have been closing a lot here in Japan, especially after covid, becoming more difficult to find especially with that kind of old school arcade atmosphere Hokkaido (where Sapporo is) is my favorite place in Japan, I go to there every year for snowboarding. By far the best food in Japan, Winter festival in February, Probably has the best powder snow in the world. Sapporo has a few nice resorts that are within reach of a day drip. Then there is Niseko(use to be my goto resort) which is about 3 hours by bus or train and where most foreigners stay. It has become over priced and over run though in the last couple of years. There is also Rusutsu another overpriced resort but has the goods on the mountain. My now goto resort is Furano, is yet to be over run and is easy to get to. Can also take a day off and go to the zoo in Asahikawa and watch the hippos bask in the sun in -4 degrees C. I think winter sports is much cheaper to do in Japan compared to the US. I looked at doing in the US but the prices were double or triple of what I would pay in Japan and probably for conditions worse than Japan so I decided not to. Anyways screw Osaka just go to Hokkaido haha.
