I saw them in either Orlando or Lakeland Florida in 1988. ( I saw several shows in each town and the memory is shot) A Momentary Lapse of Talent was what we called the album they were supporting, but we were just dumb kids. It was an outdoor show and rained like crazy ( but no thunder) we called it "Pink Flood"
1994 Rice Stadium, we were all slightly brain scrambled...the HUGE thunderstorm rolls in as they're 1 hour into their set...you could see it coming from behind the stage. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/ne...oyd-rice-stadium-houston-concert-19427990.php Then it was "get the hell out, get to your car". Great times! I had about 6 soggy stoners in the back of my SUV..."DO NOT PUT THOSE WINDOWS DOWN" as it's pouring down rain
I went to the Texas Rice game as a 16 year old by myself. On the way home it was raining so hard o got hit by basically a river of water and was in the right hand lane and ended up in the right hand lane (of oncoming traffic!) 7 lanes over. That **** was absolutely nuts. I think that’s still the hardest I’ve ever seen it rain.
The Astros are a perfect 3-0 since my sister went out of the country for vacation. Hope she likes the Czech Republic as her permanent home!
i like Momentary Lapse. Sure, it’s missing Roger’s brilliance but I still always liked what it is. Very easy album to listen to and so is Division Bell. In fact, so is all of Gilmour’s solo stuff. Lots of soothing guitar and vocals.
Scott was gonna pitch yesterday regardless. Astros needed 4 bullpen innings with JV only going 5. You can argue the order should've been Scott/Neris/Ort/Pressly and that's cool, but Scott was going to pitch with Abreu and Hader unavailable. Most of his recent damage has been entering games mid-inning with inherited runners. Espada was giving him a fresh inning -- and it could be his last leverage game with Ort's great production overtaking him. The Astros bullpen looks ridiculously nasty -- Hader/Pressly/Abreu/Neris/Ort. The rotation looks nasty and deep (especially if JV can pull a low-3.00 ERA). Our lineup is currently the best it's been all season with Tucker's return and being Jabreu-less. The division lead is still fairly comfortable and there's a slight chance we overtake Cleveland for the bye if we sweep them. Regardless, the next 45 days could likely end with parade plans.
I came back to town for that one. Bailed in the 2Q and went back to my buddy's house on Chaucer St. The Rice people were quite happy after the game. I was also at UT's next? game at Rice Stadium, where Ricky ran for a 300 yards and 6 TDs
For you Texans fans out there. After much deliberation, due to the Titans still stinking up the place and having an all new cast, I may very well start rooting for the Texans now. That is all!
