With alimony and child support, she can maintain her standard of living without his cheating ass.

The biggest loser of all time though is still John Edwards. I still can’t believe he was cheating on his dying wife and knocked up his side chick.

You think so? Not like Nirvana were great musicians, it was all Kurt's voice.

Don’t let the fact that he despises Trump cloud your vision. The list of artists that don’t want their music played at his white power rallies is a mile long at this point.

Not at all, I just don't think Nirvana's songs required much skills. But I guess he did an album with Tenacious D.

Someone like Danny Carey, Joey Jordison, Mike Wengren etc. They're great drummers

you dont think grohl is a hell of a drummer? i saw nirvana and they were indeed great musicians and a great band. i wasnt even a huge fan of theirs at the time, but i could recognize how good they were.

maybe not technical shredders, but the greatness of that band was due not just to cobains songwriting and vocals, but the rhythm section too. the bassist had a very distinct sound and way of playing that IMO was nirvanas secret weapon. dave was/is an incredible drummer with a distinctive style and feel. he brought so much to the table in nirvana.

its funny that one of the top 5 rock drummers of the last 40 years isnt even an active drummer in a band.

Well Nirvana was one of my favorite bands, but I don't find their music to be complexed/complicated. Kurt couldn't even stand let alone hold a guitar n he was an average player at best.

Do you think Lars from Metallica is a good drummer?

just because the music isnt complex doesnt mean the people playing it are not great musicians. what do you mean kurt couldnt stand? he stood up the whole show i saw and he held his guitar the whole time. i dont think he was a great guitar player in a technical sense, but IMO he was a great musician and he was defiinitely a great songwriter.

lars is certainly someone who plays drums! he is fine for metallica, but put him in another metal band like slayer, priest or gorgoroth and he would get destroyed.

lars is like cobain in that he might not be a technically great drummer, but he knows how to get the most out of what he has. his biggest skill in metalllica might be as a songwriter/arranger.

Yes he was a great songwriter n he had a great voice, but a 10 year old can play all of their songs.

    Lars is a shitty drummer

It's always interesting reading your takes on music. I've never been a big Nirvana fan (Foo Fighters, yes), but I'm going to have to download a few of their songs and give them a little closer listen now.

When I was younger (high school) and less mature as a musician, I would have totally disagreed with this. I thought guys like Phil Rudd, Mick Fleetwood and Charlie Watts just SUCKED because they never played complicated fills like my idols Neil and Stewart (who I still love, btw).

As I got older and broadened my horizons musically, I discovered that FEEL is so much more important than fills. I discovered that those 3 guys I mentioned are actually PHENOMENAL drummers and musicians. They are guys than can all play the same simple groove...yet each one has their own distinctive and recognizable FEEL to it. Same exact goove...yet, totally different. That's genius.

Grohl is one of those guys who has his own FEEL.

Nowadays, I judge drummers by how the BAND sounds, not by how many 32nd note double-bass fills they can fit into a 12 bar phrase. Unless it's a grind core band, of course. If I was a bass player, would I like playing with this drummer? Would it feel good or not?

Listen to Queens of the Stone Age "Songs for the Deaf". Grohl was the drummer on that album.
