This team just isn't that good. Sucks.

injuries really derailed this team and throw off any momentum they generate.

    SP rotation. fugged
    OF rotation. fugged
    IF rotation. fugged

just when you thought chas is somewhat gaining steam, he injured his wrist/hand. we thought meyers can now be consistent but he's struggling again. jey hey looks like he doesn't belong in the major for his ABs since the first game with astros. ben gamel is okayish.

Kind of useless to criticize Joe, he's going to be up for manager of the year no doubt. May even win it.

I never underestimate the Astros ability to: 1) waste a great SP performance; and 2) fail to score runs in extra innings even with the Manfred runner.

Last night was one of the top ten most frustrating losses of the year. The "best" lineup of the year was on the field, they had multiple opportunities with runners on base, and they just couldn't do it.

    2-17 with RISP

Really inspired effort last night. Really playing with a sense of urgency.

i know astros are somewhat notorious to do this (perhaps only in our eyes) but nobody beat the mariners in this category.

their rotation consistently give the offense quality starts over and over but only barely win half of its game.

Last night was bad. It was so bad I'm not going to spew details. Today is another day and another opportunity.

At least the Mariners lost, but it's becoming less and less likely that the Astros can get a bye.

18 games left for Astros, 17 for Cleveland and Yankees.

Cleveland M.N vs Astros is 13
Yankees M.N. vs Astros is 12

Need to overtake one of them for a bye.

Despite losing, Spaghetti's outing in Cincy was a fluke. Manager Jose should try Taqueria Arandas batting 1st. He can steal more bags.

he has speed but his base stealing ability/timing is not that great.

Said this earlier in the game.

Altuve didn't need to bust it out box to triple -- that ball bounced of the wall so far he could've easily made it to 3rd with average effort.

Had he been hustling, it could've been an inside-the-park.

Yordan could have bunted if Altuve was on 3B.

Earlier in the game, Oakland went 1st-to-3rd on a single, then scored on a sac-fly. Astros had a similar situation (after 2 singles like Oakland), but the runner didn't make 3rd until 2 outs. Chas hit a much deeper ball than Oakland did for their SF, but ours ended the inning.

So many wasted base advancements for us, but Oakland got theirs. It probably equaled a 3-run discrepancy in Oakland's favor in a game that finished separated by 1 run -- and that's including the wack ass defense in the 12th. Now the bullpen is in shambles today and it stems from a game we lost. Wasted effort due to foolishness

Stupid f***ing loss. Luckily, Seattle is only mediocre.

I keep crying for it but I just can not believe they don’t bunt the runner over to third to start the inning.
If they’re not good hunters they need to practice it more.
This situation obviously comes up multiple times a year.
I mean the A’s knew how to win.

This team is either headed to another WS or losing in the wild card series.

Sword:" We expanded too much. Trying to do too much." I hate the stupid rule too but it's been in place for 5 seasons

What is the Astros batting avg. and OPS with bases loaded?

I also wonder what their batting avg and OPS are in extra innings.

It's after games like last night that I have to remind myself that both WS teams were wildcards last year. Hell, the Dbacks were 20 games worse than the 1 seed in the NL.

It's all about getting hot at the right time. And the Astros do have that playoff pedigree....

The wack discrepancy between OBP and SLUG is reminiscent of postseason-Bagwell.

I agree. It felt more embarrassing than losing a game 10-0
