Debates aren't. All the best most memorable parts of debates aren't about policy. " Senator, you're no Jack Kenned" "There you go Again" That is the way it's always been. Trump's discussion of policy (He was in office for 4 years)? "I have the concept of a plan"
For as long as I’ve watched presidential debates, I’ve always been frustrated by the lack of details... until I gave up expecting any. This isn’t the '70s, when you had actual 4-hour debates that went deep. Maybe some of the posters here are too young to have realized this yet. That said, Harris did mention some of her policies, but the 2-minute and 1-minute formats were never designed to actually debate policy. Presidential debates, frankly, are pretty stupid, but that’s how we Americans seem to like it—short attention spans and little concern for details.
Lol Trump added more to the national debt in one term than Obama did in two terms. So much for the party of fiscal responsibility
Is ite or does the GOP have a new group of minorities they try to start pogroms with? Transgender people one month, Hatians the next. What the next group? Any predictions?
Take off the rose-colored glasses for once man haha. He had a very bad night. However much he tried to connect her to the past 3.5 years (which in fairness she was the VP, not the Prez but of course conservatives all of a sudden now believe the VP has this incredible amount of power)...he failed.
it was also a missed opportunity for harris. she could have gone after him on that way more than she did. i would have pointed out how millions of americans are bi-racial and trumps comments were offensive to all of us. the notion that one cannot be bi-racial, but instead have to choose like trump says we do.
It really seems to be more about assessing one's demeanor and ability to come across as "Presidential", rather than a debate of policies and eachother's record.
If Trump gets his way and we abandon Ukraine, the Ukrainian refugees will be the GOPs new scapegoats.
Except that they called him out on it, Harris never met or spoke to Putin - so how could she negotiate? Whooops. Blocked at the rim!
Essentially... and maybe that’s the right approach. After all, Presidents aren’t policy experts but leaders.
Kamala came off much better tonight than Trump. He really hasn't been a dynamic political on-stage presence since 2016. Will it matter for the election results? I have no idea. Was unexpectedly great to have Kamala say that COVID came from the Wuhan lab - how far we've come!
Trump supporters talking about “Where’s the policy?” sit tf down now y’all care about substance… only 1 candidate is held to any sort of standards
they also didn't ask any questions on the US dollar being the de facto global currency the recent efforts, by Russia/China/India, to de-dollarized the dollar has been laughable lowest unemployment rate ever in US history positive job creation---averaging> 100K each month---everyone month, for the past 3.5 yrs, ever since Trump was fired by the American voters Trump admin was the only one, post the Great Depression, to has experienced a net loss in job creation after 4 yrs in office, Trump's concept of a plan failed to pass an infrastructure bill; Biden passed the Infrastucture bill in his first year in office, Trump's ill-conceived trade war---causing global supply chain bottlenecks---planted the seeds for inflation monetary tools to fine tune the economy etc
Harris manipulated Trump tonight. Trump is easy to manipulate. Just like Harris said. Foreign leaders love him because they can just rape the United States with him at the helm.
