The younger generation of fans won't understand the impact CD had on the Rockets but there is a reason he has a jersey retired even though he never suited up for the team. RIP.
This is another one that hits hard. A real Rockets Legend! I can't even imagine the hell he went through getting hit by lightning, losing vision in both eyes to varying degrees, eventually losing vision in one eye and having eyesight in his "good" eye come and go afterward. Dude still showed up to work. He always seemed like a nice guy. He'll always deserve his "number" hanging up in the rafters to me. R.I.P. CD.
CD was the architect of the Houston Rockets. He was the best big man coach in the entire NBA. Acquiring Glyde for OT was a risk, but it paid back with the back to back NBA championships. RIP to the legend. CD will never be gotten by Houston Rockets fans.
