The Colts were really concentrating today on getting to the QB, having watched the team last season I would have too. The box was thin, spread out, and unlike last season we have a back who will recognize and take advantage of holes. If the running game keeps punching teams in the mouth like today, we'll see how the league adjusts. This team looks like it has the potential for the perfect 50/50 play action dominance. Stroud and the passing game looked a little out or sorts, I think they'll clean that up.
True, but he was SUPER lucky to not have 2 or 3 picks today. One was due to holding, but if they don't make that call, the Texans lose the game and we're looking at things very differently right now. Due to luck being on his side, the statline still looked good, but his placement was off, his decision making was often slower than we expect...but it's just game one. I expect him to look a LOT better next week.
The run blocking was really on point today, we had FB's out there throwing coke machine blocks like they were Vonta Leach
Honestly despite some of the Pass-Pro issues today, our O-Line was dominant on the ground.. They were opening up huge holes for our backs. Mixon often didn't get touched until he was 3-4 yards passed the LOS. They were simply awesome today in the running game and deserve their flowers.
Yes, but he was not as effective as we'd expect....but he's still coming back from injury and he didn't do much in preseason, so I didn't expect him to look like a league killer today.....and he didn't.
