Apparently Ms. "Sped" isn't writing for the blog anymore and they are looking for another writer. Wonder what happenend, if she was just tired of it or the school found out and made her stop or something

Still she is exploiting her students problems to the whole world. If my teacher gave out stupid answers that I put on my tests to the whole world I for sure would be pissed, this lady gives ouT personaly information and everything else.

Whatever...its obvious that most of these kids have parents that do no care and dump their kids at her school and on her.

She not only has to be a teacher, but she has to be a mother, baby-sitter, caretaker, counselor, ect. for these kids. She pays for them to have stuff, she sticks up for them, she tries to help them when their parents often don't even try.

If she has to post a few humorous things on a blog to vent, whatever. I wouldn't last one hour in that job.

If she has to expose the disabled's problems all over the internet, she should be working somewhere else. Next thing you know a psychiatrist will be letting out transcripts of the talks he's had with his patients, what would you say then...

I remember reading this a few months ago and thinking it was hilarious. Sometimes you just have to laugh at life.

    You guys are too soft.

On a completely unrelated note, it pissess me off when people post threads about something terrible like "Man throws dog out the window of car" and all the replies are "oh man how terrible" and "this guy should be shot"

No **** its terrible to throw a dog out the window. No **** its terrible when a molestor picks up a child. Do you think you are somehow proving you have some greater sense of morality when you say this stuff? Get a grip.

I've seen plenty of books and lists of studid answers by students. Maybe some were yours :p

The concern she has for those kids was too obvious. I just couldn't be offended by it except for the possible continual reference to 'r****ds'. She took the kids to basketball games....to visit their parents in jail.

Above and beyond, if you ask me.

Me thinks you're taking this too seriously (.....or possibily i'm not taking it seriously enough). I just found it more touching than offensive.

Why they use the word "tard", from the FAQ:

Why do you use the word "tard?" Isn't this a horrible thing to call them?

We decided on the word "tard" mainly because it is not a word. We picked it for this reason, and thus we can assign our own meaning to the word "tard."

When using "tard" we no not mean necessarily mean "r****ded," "stupid," "slow," or any other such word that carries a negative connotation with it. We did not call this the "r****d Blog" or the "Really Stupid Kid Blog" because that is not what it is. This is a journal that is written about the daily happenings in a special education/behavioral disorder classroom.

The children in Riti's class have a myriad of issues, and no two are alike. Some fit under the conventional definition of "mentally r****ded," or "developmentally impaired," if you prefer that term. Some are autistic. Some have highly developed neuroses. Others simply have run-of-the-mill behavioral disorders.

We are assigning the word "tard" to all of them as a way of classifying all of them together. For instance, when Riti says something about "her tards," she is referring to everyone in her class.

From an entomological perspective, the definition of "tard," as we use it, could be something as follows:

tard: n., A student in a class that is set aside for children with some sort of special need, e.g. metal r****dation, autism, behavioral disorders, etc, generally referred to as Special Education classes.

If you think it is a derogatory word, then that is your problem, not ours, and reflects the biases and issues you bring to the table, not us.

She went above and beyond for "her tards" in what had to have been one mother of a frustrating job.

How could you keep all of these awesome stories to yourself? If a "normal" kid had done each of these, everyone on the board would find 'em hilarious. But because they have problems, they're mean? Ok...

This isn't doctor-patient or lawyer-client priviledge. She's not doing anything illegal. Immoral? I don't know. What religion says it is a sin to tell stories about your life?

Oh come on! If we aren't allowed to lord a greater sense of morality over the pedophiliatic, dog throwers of the world, then we'd never be able to use it. Geeeeeeeeeeeez. Next you'll be telling me not to look down my nose at the beastialitic, baby throwers either.

Anyway, I said that I felt kind of dirty reading it, but it was actually due to the fact that these kids had some pretty messed up, broken homelifes. And it felt a bit too voyeuristic for my tastes. I can understand someone that thinks it's inappropriate. But I do sometimes have a dark humor streak in me, so I can see laughing at the unfortunate cirmustances of the world.

So what am I saying. I don't know. All I know is that this fence I'm sitting on isn't all that comfortable.
