This is a Yet Another Elon Thread.

When Musk bought Twitter, many people considered it a doomed venture and stupidly predicted so. Likewise, there was much hype on the other side; Free speech, payment services, video services, tele-conference services, ect ...

My ultimate concern was Musks desire to create a platform he controlled and could promote his messages. He bought it for 44 million, now worth 15 billion. Musk owns 75%. Musk owes other investors minimum 11B.
    Those are the facts.

Musk has since used the platform to promote his message. How much influence does X/twitter have over politics? I would say its easily 5%, possibly up to 20% if we Muskretch it.

Musk has obviously surrendered to Trump. There are talks of him become one of his czars (using right wing speak). If he truly gets brought on as an economic advisor, how much influence will he have that benefits his companies?

One example: Musks promotes (and it passes) an additional $2500 tax credit for all EV's. To play fair to legacy, he offers low emission ICE vehicles $2500 also. This is fuel for gross margins for all manufactures, except Tesla. Its gross profit. 1.6B in pure profit. Tesla then invests 5B on X AI. And XAI buys out Twitter at a 50B valuation.

Lets not forget about SpaceX. Optimus is a side show. And for those who dont follow neuralink, they are currently working on patient 2.

So paying 33 billion on a platform that landed him Economic Czar complete dwarfs Pelosi's stock market grift and Trumps laughable Stormy Daniels payment that landed him 34 pointless felonies.

It was a bad deal. Bezos bought Wapo for a quarter billion to win his lobbyist clout.

Elon bought Twitter at the peak of the bubble, and initially tried to play it off as a joke. Maybe telling advertisers to go **** themselves was another joke, but the bill comes due as will his 5 yr Twitter loans.

So he bought some clout, but did he really need to buy the whole cow? It's not like the zombie SEC would've done it's job either way.

It's his money and his platform. We're just around to live with the garbage.

BTW, I'm not sure how much influence a commission can bring.

Didn't Trump ring in a bunch of billionaires and form some commission who did who knows what the first time? So much influence, so little buzz.
