Yeah that's a weird take. We had a little hot stretch, but absolutely nothing compared to the last two years. We had 30+ days straight of 100 last year. This year we had rain from June to mid-July.
I don't want to jinx anybody, but early September is looking pretty meek in the Atlantic, and that's awesome for the US of A.
This year is supposed to be a bad hurricane year and getting a hurricane in July was a bad sign. Since then though it’s seemed to quiet down. There still is a lot of time left in the hurricane season though.
Lol please, it’s 1000x worse here where it’s hot AND humid. Even if it doesn’t rain for 3 months, still ****ing humid. Can look at the outside through the window without breaking a sweat. And some of your weirdos think 78 is a good house temperature.
They have said this the last several years. Every year is suppose to be bad. We end up with 1 or 2 bad storms and a couple smaller storms. Then people claim its climate change, storms are getting more powerful but more infrequent. Occasionally there is a really bad season, but it seems once every 5 years or so.
In the NOAA research, storms are neither more frequent or stronger over the last 100 years. They tend to appear to intensify more rapidly, but that may actually be measurement bias according to their research.
Southwestern Gulf of Mexico: A tropical wave over the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms over Guatemala, southeastern Mexico, and the adjacent waters of the southwestern Gulf of Mexico. The wave is expected to move over the Bay of Campeche later today, and an area of low pressure is forecast to develop while interacting with a frontal boundary. Environmental conditions are forecast to be conducive for development, and a tropical depression could form during the early or middle part of next week while the system moves slowly northwestward over the southwestern Gulf of Mexico. * Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...40 percent. * Formation chance through 7 days...medium...60 percent.
Things may be calm in the Atlantic but a super typhoon just hit Hainan and could strengthen before it hits Vietnam. https://www.scmp.com/news/china/art...mmels-chinas-hainan-killing-2-and-injuring-92
For real. It’s football season which means Fall is coming. Hell, it feels wonderful outside. Unfortunately this looks like it is going to develop. For our sake, hopefully it’s lopsided and most of the worst is east of us (sorry Louisiana). That would give us nice north winds and gorgeous weather for a few days. Nothing is certain so everyone needs to be watching it.
