His entire platform is "tariffs" and " drill baby drill."

Except that FDR nor any of those in his administration were held criminally liable or even indicted.
John Yoo isn’t just one of the architects of Project 2025 but was in the GW Bush administration and argued for similar broad based powers for the Presidency under the principle of the Unitary Executive. The USSC in recent rulings seem far more amenable to it.
And what exactly did they say are official acts? Again even Barrett noted that taking bribes could be official acts.

This is the whole problem with the ruling that it is very unclear about what are core official acts. This is why Jack Smith refilled his indictments and even then Judge Chutkin has acknowledged that any ruling will likely be appealed to the USSC again because it’s not clear what is official acts.

As you know impeachment is a legislative action and not a criminal action. Congress can theoretically impeach a president for picking their nose or could not impeach a president who publicly shot someone.

The founders were clear that impeachment wasn’t a criminal prosecution and that Presidents are still subject to criminal laws especially out of office. This ruling goes agains that. That presidents both in office and out of office are granted a broad range of immunity for vague “official” acts.

I am sick of this Project 2025 stuff. Trump has refuted he is part of it. Why aren't people hitting him on Agenda 47? It is almost the same exact thing AND it is on his website. He basically renamed it, yet no one will call him on it. "Okay you reject knowing about Project 2025. Let's talk about Agenda 47 on your website. It has this, this, this, this, and this in common with Project 2025"

Yes I and other posters already noted that they are very similar. The main thing is that they both say that the president should be replace career employees of the government for ideological reasons.

I’m seeing a news report on Christian Evagnical movement that is preaching that it is the divine duty to support Trump. Even as the post admits that Trump isn’t the most godly he is saying that Trump is still learning and that his values align with theirs. He also goes on to say they there are demonic forces at work and that Christians have to stand up to them.

Another pastor is saying that if Trump wins he not only will have a political mandate to govern but a divine one.

I’ll post a link when one is available.

That's my point. Stop hammering him on Project 2025. Make him defend the Agenda 47 which is on his website.

Q: What legislation will you commit to to make childcare more affordable?

He's so cognitively impaired this has become the norm. He rambles off a bunch of stuff like some old drunk on a park bench.

I had to read that 4 times and I still have no clue what he is saying. I think it boils down to this, he doesn't have a plan so he has to riff and he sucks at that........oh wait, trump now calls this tactic "weaving" or multi tasking, so you get a bunch of answers all at once on different topics but never a real finality to any one question.............................Brilliant Strategy

I'm trying to understand how they think his values align with theirs. He says one thing yet does another.

    What values?
Rape, sexual assault, sleeping with minors, adultery, fraud, tax evasion, compulsively lying, spewing hate towards others?

Is it the multiple ways he screwed investors and declared bankruptcy over the years? Is it his inciting of violence to get what he wants? What values? Is it his deceit and lying to fool others into believing he can be trusted?

I'm confused on what they can possibly call him aligning with their values.

    Trump has said that both
    • he has not read the Project 2025 900 page document
    • he thinks that there are several good ideas within

Trump is just BS-ing. I think that if someone gave Trump a large campaign donation and told him to support Project 2025 in its entirety he would. He might still disavow Project 2025 in public.

This is the baseline problem with Trump. He is not a policy guy. He is a gut guy, who is more concerned about what he sell to the public than what good policy would be. We have four hard years of proof for this. Trump still think tariffs are paid by China, on which no economic expert has ever agreed with him.

During his speech on Thursday, Trump vowed to “end Kamala Harris’ anti-energy crusade,” a claim that does not match up with the fact that America is producing more oil now than at any point under his presidency.

US oil output hit an all-time high of 13.4 million barrels per day recently, according to weekly federal data. That is just above the peak of 13.1 million barrels per day under Trump.

Trump also bragged about gas prices tumbling to $1.87 a gallon during his term.

Of course, many Americans could not take advantage of those ultra-low prices in the spring of 2020 because they took place during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“I don’t think anyone wants to return to those pandemic times,” Lipow said.

How do even 20% of Americans support Trump?
Even that many people supporting a pathological lying felon and sociopath with the literacy of a 3rd grader blows my mind.

Another day of lie spewing by the man who can't tell the truth. That never changes. I can't even speculate how many lies and pure BS promises he will make at the debate, but I'm sure there will be plenty.
