Former President Trump calls Ukrainian President Zelensky "the greatest salesman of any politician that's ever lived," remarking on the $60 billion Ukraine recently received to fight against Russia's invasion. The 2024 presumptive Republican nominee goes on to say, “It never ends. I will have that settled prior to taking the White House as president-elect. ... Gotta stop it." https://www.c-span.org/video/?c5120987/donald-trump-stopping-aid-ukraine “I don’t really care what happens to Ukraine one way or the other,” Senator Vance has said. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/07/15/world/europe/ukraine-jd-vance.html
Spaniel's recent vid goes into how Belarus is back in the picture threatening to create a third front plus Wagner troops. Probably unlikely unless Belarus can handle rebellions though Ukraine will still need enough to fight back the Wagner part.
Nobody bothered to respond to this post but I just wanted to note for the record that in keeping with his persona of the last few years - @tinman posted this for celebratory reasons. This is because like many of his fellows, he is the type of deeply f-kdup weirdo who likes to post bad news about Ukraine in order to boost his team (Putin/Musk/Trump) Anyway, go about your business, player.
Ukraine shot down the F-16 we gave them, with the Patriot SAM we gave them. Freaking brilliant use of cash
Hey Casey think of how many used car loans could have been paid off by selling rides in that f-16 bro!
government spending helps or hurts inflation? Crap I can't remember. I'm sure repossessions have nothing to do with cars doubling in price in the last 4 years.
I don't get what this has to do with inflation - but I can confirm for you with complete confidence that sending F-16s to Ukraine has absolutely zero impact on inflation. None. 0. Frankly with Core PCE currently running at very low 1.7% annualized rate - I don't get why anyone would even seriously make the argument that inflation isn't beaten. We haven't had even modest inflation for 2 years at this point. But, anyway - if in lieu of helping Ukraine defend itself and NATO from Russian thugs and scumbags and looters blowing up hospitals- we, as you proposed instead (!?!) somehow used the military assistance budget to enact a car loans welfare/transfer payment system - if it were sufficiently large*, you might see modest inflationary impacts. * Though sufficiently large means trillions probably - way bigger than an F-16. Anyway - dumb post but an enjoyable drag.
They were made here, were going to come back here to assist the us in Red Air, the USA is providing the AIM-120s to make them worth a crap, and the Netherlands had their F-35 deal sweetened to stop that sale and "give" the jets to Ukraine. It's quite a silly distinction.
A Russian MiG 29 in this video, a two seater, must have been piloted by a madman. For over 10 minutes he’s flying around attempting to strafe what I assume is a missile battery which is firing one missile after another at him. Not at all a sophisticated one, as they keep missing. Apparently, he has no air to ground rockets, no bombs, but he keeps trying to hit it with his guns. An an act of madness. Perhaps he thought of it as a video game. The poor fellow in the back must have been terrified. The pilot, in my opinion, had opportunities to fly away safely and didn’t. Guess he got pissed off. Watch it and see what happens.
