Lots of us play one on the internet. A severe bone bruise is basically a microfracture of the outter cortex of the bone.

Did they ever say "severe" though?

Regardless, he had a broken leg. Saying "bruise" was a complete suger coat.

"Discomfort" is another repeated deflection by the Astros to avoid saying what it really is.

sometimes it’s better to have a clean break than these lingering ailments. Astros getting a lot of heat about Tucker from fans, but at the end of the day it’s the players that give the ok to play final word; because if he says it is still bothering him, the organization has to respect that.

On the bright side of things, Tucker will be very well rested for the playoffs. Hopefully he can get right back into his swing that was MVP level before he went down for 3 month with an ouchie, I meant to say bruise, …. Alright, That was an ill attempt at being funny, bone contusions are actually very serious injuries.

    What is a bone bruise?
A bone bruise is a bone injury. It’s similar to a bruise you might get on the surface of your skin. But it’s more serious than a mark left over from roughhousing with your kids or playing pickup basketball.

Healthcare providers sometimes refer to bone bruises as bone contusions. Contusion is the medical name for a bruise.

Bone contusions are blood trapped under the surface of your bone after an injury. Your bones are living tissue that can get bruised in lots of the same ways your skin can. It takes much more force to bruise a bone than your skin, but the injury is very similar. If something hits your bones with enough force, they can bleed without being broken.

Visit a healthcare provider or go to the emergency room if you’ve experienced trauma like a fall or car accident. Especially if you feel sharp, intense pain that feels like it’s coming from a bone.

    Types of bone contusions
A healthcare provider may classify a bone contusion based on where your bone is damaged:

    • Periosteal contusion: The periosteum is a membrane of blood vessels and nervesthat wraps around most of your bones.
    • Subchondral lesions: A bone bruise in a joint, under the cartilage.
    • Intraosseous contusion: Bruising inside your bone itself.
What is the most common bone bruise?
Bone bruises are common after traumas or other severe injuries. For example, experts estimate that around 80% of people who tear their ACL also bruise a bone in their knee joint.

Bone bruises can affect any bone in your body, but they’re more common in longer bones, especially in your legs, including your:

    Symptoms and Causes
    What are bone contusion symptoms?
The most common bone contusion symptoms include:

    • Bone pain.
    • Tenderness around the bone.
    • Swelling.
    • Skin bruising or discoloration.
What does a bone bruise feel like?
A bone bruise will feel like a more intense version of a typical surface bruise. A bruise on your skin or in a muscle will feel tender or painful, especially when you touch that spot. A bone bruise usually feels like a dull, throbbing ache that’s coming from deeper inside your body.

Depending on which bone is bruised, the pain might get worse when you move, stand or sit in certain positions.

    What causes bone bruises?
Anything that hits your bones with enough force to damage them can cause a bone bruise.

Traumas and injuries are the most common causes, including:

Injuries that twist your joints or body are more likely to cause bone contusions. Sprains(especially in your ankle and knee) can put enough pressure on your bones to bruise them.

    What are the risk factors?
Anyone can bruise a bone, but some people have a higher risk, including:

    • Athletes who play contact sports.
    • People who have physically demanding jobs or hobbies.
    • People who have blood disorders.
    • People who have arthritis.

He would have probably been back already if it was broken. Severe bone bruises can take longer to heal.

Don't want to jinx it....but is Dana Brown's statement of Tucker coming back early September going to be actually true? Shocking he placed a time frame and it might be the truth.

    Yao Ming might disagree.

A poster was told by a doctor that a severe bone bruise could equal a fracture.

Yao's career pretty much ended from a fracture -- it never healed.

We have ran out worse lineups. Jake Meyers hit clean up a few weeks back and pretty sure Chas was in the lineup.

Jake Meyers somehow has 11 ABs batting cleanup. No hits.

It's amazing how all these HBP that break bones hardly ever accompany a bruise.

'24 Astros luck at its finest.

The manager isn't sabotaging the season like last year, so at least there's that.

    Because:
    1) The OF has been very weak offensively
    2) 3 infield positions are set everyday
    3) Singleton is better than him vs RHP which is 70% of games.
    4) He has been among the 9 best position players on this team most of the season.
    5) He is much improved this year in the OF and is now better than average.

If I woke up out of a coma and you told me Meyers hit cleanup multiple times and we didn’t get anything from Javier, Urquidy, LMJ, Garcia and JV so far this season because of injuries, I would assume we would be closer to last than first in the division.

He’s been the best defensive OF we have other than Meyers. 92nd percentile in OAA and his arm actually makes runners think before taking the extra 90 even though he isn’t that accurate with it.

When you try to tank and the other teams out tank you - giving you a division lead.
