    Hunter Brown (5-1) 1.98 ERA

    Framber Valdez (6-1) 2.25 ERA

    Spencer Arrighetti (3-4) 2.68 ERA

    Since the trade deadline
    Yusei Kikuchi (2-0, Astros 5-0) 2.89 ERA

You still have Justin Verlander working his way back into form and you never count him out.

Blanco appears destined to the pen should the Astros make the playoffs.

The Astros went from a rag tag operation regarding the starting rotation to having a problem with who is potentially left out of a playoff rotation.

And we have 5 others on the IL that could be starters for anyone in the league (McCullers, Garcia, Javier, France, Urquidy).

Two contenders that didn't really help themselves -- but it hasn't mattered

    Playoffs: 66% then | 92% now

Yusei Kikuchi has been consistent for Houston, which has been a help to the rotation as it continues to round into postseason form. As mentioned in the Yankees' entry, Ferguson has an ugly WPA but has been solid of late and hasn't been used in high leverage anyway. Overall, it still looks like a quiet deadline for Houston. Nevertheless, the Astros now look even more bound for another AL West title than they did a month ago.

Gotta tip your cap to the pitching. They’ve been great for us.

Gotta hope the bats catch fire at the right time.

Doesn't feel like we’ve ever been the team with super hot bats any of our post season runs in this era.

If our rag tag 1B rotation could only turn into prime Pujols, Bagwell, and Casey

Is the team ballsy enough to not have JV starting in the postseason if things don't start looking differently?

I think they put Arrighetti or Kikuchi in the pen instead.

I can't see JV being out of the loop, and I think they'll treat Arrighetti like they did France as an afterthought long reliever in the playoffs.
