On the first pic is that same as the Toyota Center because I dont see any towers in the corner and the Basketball hoop backbone doesn't look like that
I played three games last night and, after reflecting on it during the day, I still love the game and can't wait to get on and play again tonight. I LOVE all the little details they have included that really puts this game from really good to great. I played the Pistons and, every time Big Ben scored, the PA played the bell chime sound like in real life. The mascots are in there, though they don't do anything, but it was nice seeing Clutch the Bear standing on the baseline at the Toyota Center, etc.
Just to let people know they got Nachbar on the Reserve squad he is not on the roster lol.... Okay here are the ratings Yao - 87 TMac - 98 JJ - 78 Padgett - 68 Boki - 65 Sura - 75 Ward - 69 Lue - 65 Gaines - 65 Howard - 78 Weatherspoon - 72 Taylor - 69 Mutombo - 68
Ok just played 2 games, and tested the franchise mode. Franchise mode sucks. Game is pretty good, Isomotion makes me throw up. The cameras are crap. Playing it is fun tho. I love the post up skills yao has... Hmm, not as good as I expected, guess ill be checking out live and getting that.
Could you expand on the parts you don't like? Just a little curious since I've been hearing mixed things on some of those. The complaint I hear about franchise mode is that the CPU does weird trades, which I don't like but I'm not sure how much AI they could put into that. The Isomotion is getting mixed reviews, with some people liking it and some not. Of course, some just aren't used to it and hate it at first, but once they understand how to use it, they like it bettter. I will say that I've heard little complaints about the camera though.
What part of franchise do you not like? i just started my first game of franchise so i am not sure which part your not liking.
THe franchise mode is wierd because of the fact that they will trade R. Lewis and Vlad Radmonovic for J. Howard, M. Taylor, and T. Lue,,, All bad contracts for a top 15 player and an awesome young PF. But then they wont trade me S, Telfair for a first,2nd pick and M. Redd.... It makes random desicions and such, Isomotion is just ghey. I like lives analog controller option for Live 04 much much better. Camera: I dont like It for some reason, cant get my finger on why...
I can't comment much on the trades. Like I said, it sounds like the trade AI is pretty strange. However, I think most of the sports trade AI's aren't very good. There may be a possibility that the chemistry and players on the trade block had something to do with those trades. (IE: Rashard wasn't getting along with team, but Telfair was instrumental in his team's 8-game winning streak) I can't swear on this since I don't have the game yet, but I thought I read that the chemistry does impact the trades and stuff.. Was that the only thing you didn't like about it though? I'm wondering what the Isomotion is like, so if you could expand more than saying it is "ghey," I'd appreciate it. I didn't quite like last year's Isomotion, but once I learned how to use it, it got a little better. If you've been playing mostly Live, you will probably need a little while to get used to Isomotion since it relies on timing and certain moves. Also, I wonder if they made it so difficult to use for a reason. While it is cool to see the players break their opponents ankles, how much is this actually done? I think that those type of moves rarely actually work and running plays are much more effective. Of course, once you become "a master of the Isomotion," maybe you could integrate it into the plays to become a better offensive and defensive player. Guess I can't really comment on the camera issue since you can't figure out why you don't like it. Personally, I don't know how it could be any worse than the 2K4 camera. From what I've seen, the main camera looks ok and if worse comes to worse, I'd probably go back to the oldschool 2K camera. Is the chemistry just based on the questions? I have no problem with that though. It sounds like something real since if TMac is having problems, I could just tell him to shoot more or pass more or whatever. However, I thought I read somewhere that how you train you players, what position you play them, and how much time you play them also factor into the chemistry. I'm sure the questions have a larger role in this though since you're able to change huge parts of the team with one answer. I've been getting impatient so I've been asking a lot of things lately. Sorry if it seems strange. It is beginning to look like preordering the game from ESPN's site was a bad move. According to our little acount thingy, the game hasn't even been shipped yet for FedEx to deliver. Unless something is really bizarre and it somehow goes from being in California (I think that is where it is based) to my house in one day, I'll probably have to wait until Monday to get it. I thought it was a good idea at the time since I think the local gameshops in my area get games a little late, yet with the PS2 shipment problems, this isn't looking like such a great idea.
I didnt play 2k4, so i cant compare to last year, but compared to live it just feels so slow and dulll. The isomotion I mean. I like the crossovers etc in Live better. ANd the defense, ARGHGHGH, its soo hard to get a steal. Stupid reach in fouls.
I really like all the little options they put in the franchise mode like listening to your players and motivating them and training sessions to get better at certain things....they added some nice little touches.
You just have to know when to use it and you can't do it with everyone. It has to be someone with handles and you have to time it right and just play with it and you will get good at it.
I have a couple of questions ... I doubt I'll get this game but I've seen complaints about the camera and isomotion from various people, not just adeel. Well ... can't you just change the camera in the options menu? And can't you just not use the isomotion? From what I played of the game last year it didn't really seem all that vital to me. That is all.
I changed the camera, but never found a view i liked or was hooked onto.... ya, you could jst not use isomotion.
It probably isn't a good idea to answer questions about a game you don't have, but I don't care. AFAIK, you can change the camera. I'm pretty sure that they have the older 2K cameras and not the 2K4 camera that sucked. I'll probably try the default camera that the game starts with, but if I don't like it, I'll probably switch it. What I don't know for sure is whether or not you could change small things on each majory camera angle such as zooming and height. I would think they would be in there given the backlash from the last game, but I really have no idea. I didn't really use isomotion too much last year either. From the clips I've seen, they don't really use it that much either. A lot of times, they'll run plays to set up shots, which looks like a good way to go about things. I'll probably be doing a lot of pick and rolls as well as some post up plays with Yao to set up my teammates. Once I get used to Isomotion in this game, I'll just use it for the occasional TMac iso. I did hear that some people got it down so that they can stop and pop like TMac. That is one thing I'd like to do, even though I'd want to work more on a team attack.
