So the extra round will make a difference... huh?

Tell me again why Blanco won't possibly be a significant factor in the postseason. LOL

Astros are great with enough health.

The rotation is a legit 6 deep if JV regains 3.50 ERA form.

The offense has been missing an MVP candidate for 3 months and they're still winning games..

The bullpen has a legit Big 3 with proven playoff experience, and that's without a Top 5 postseason reliever in MLB history.

The Dynasty is great. Sit back and enjoy.

Yeah I remember toward the end of last season..we had what we all thought was a must win series vs Royals and we got our asses handed to us. We got lucky Mariners and Rangers beat up on each other to keep it close down the stretch. Got into the post-season with the skin of our teeth due to tiebreakers.

Very top heavy lineup as usual these days. Hope they are ready to bring more than zero runs to the table today.

The position player roster is terrible, especially the outfield options. That's why Joe is throwing darts at names on a wall, and Dana Brown keeps looking for and finding new names to put there.

This stretch of games is brutal, especially 4 1/2 - 5 months into the season, it's tough to not give the regulars a rest now and then.

Whitcomb started showing a lot at the plate and then we haven't seen him since.

For the Vegas odds? Absolutely. If you think otherwise, you don’t understand how betting works lol

Even not considering that, anything can happen when it’s a 3 game series. You lose that first game and it’s going to be difficult.

As for Blanco, it’s very unlikely he starts a game unless there is an injury or Kikuchi falls off somehow. You don’t need 5 starters even when you have to play the wild card series and it goes all 3 games. First WC game this year is on 10/1. The second ALDS game is on 10/7.

Management clearly doesn’t think he can play the OF or 1B effectively.

According to someone with the Astros - The Cardinals have told Matt Carpenter and Tommy Pham that they will release them before 9/1 if that is what they want. The Cardinals released former Astros draft pick Shawn Armstrong yesterday.

The Cubs are going to release Drew Smyly (if they haven't yet).

The Angels are likely to offer Kevin Pillar the option to leave for another team as well according to several sources.

Does this idiot Mgr of ours realize they're in a fight to make the playoffs? Obviously not or he wouldn't be sitting guys as much as he has.

Why not wait until the Reds series next week?

I have NO problem resting players but when you do it freaking matters.

Pham would be the only one worth considering as he could play LF against lefties.

One of the things I liked about AJ was he rarely just randomly sat guys

He would pick a game, maybe a day game after a night game, a game where we had a few starters with bad histories against that SP, whatever it be, but he would pick a game and sit 3-4 of them in the same game. I like that WAY better than going damn near a week without playing a game where you put whatever your current best is on the field. We should be playing our best possible lineup every day of the week except for posssibly one game each week. Seattle is about to play the Angels and Oakland, both have been hot trash this month. Mariners might only need 2-3 runs in any of those games to win them
