What have magic, michael, or shaq done as a GM outside of making themselves look like utter clowns to make you think they know anything about talent evaluation or team building? Would you REALLY rather have jeff bagwell run the astros than jeff luhnow? Just because you hate math and you hate "nerds"? Its such a weird hill to be on.

Would you rather have Magic or Jordan run the rockets? Or a sam presti?

Yeah, cuz great NBA players make such great analysts, coaches, scouts, owners, GMs... There's exceptions to this of course, but the point is that just because someone played the game well doesn't mean they understand it well enough to articulate what makes a player great. Anyway, do your thing.

I'm exaggerating to make a point, but Iverson is garbage relative to the comparisons he often gets. He is probably the single most overrated player of my lifetime. Either him or Kobe (to be clear, Kobe was an incredible player, but he doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Jordan or Lebron nearly as often as he is. Or ever... but I digress). EDIT: I forgot about Westbrook, he's up there, too. There's something people love about hard-working, inefficient, ball-dominant scoring guards.

BTW his height has no bearing on my opinion of him as a player. I'm just talking about production. Just like a lotta people crap on Shaq or Yao because their size made it "easy" (which it didn't), it doesn't matter, because they produced.

What are the odds he has gained about 10 lbs since he was a rookie? more or less?

I’ll take math nerd Eli Witus evaluating basketball over probably 95% of former players.

I stated MUCH of what happened in March and you manifested one thing......3P%

What if I surround Jalen Green with 3-point shooters and it opens up lanes that you can drive a mack
truck through? Jalen would get to the rim more often; which is where FG% is at its highest. If defenders
are removed because of said better 3-point shooters.

Sengun only fans think about how things would be if Sengun had multiple good 3-point shooters
surrounding him. Opens up spacing for Sengun to operate in the post. SOF's only want Sengun
    to dazzle. Very selfish.

    ___________________
Stone is adding some coals to the flame to create spacing. Those coals are hopefully Reed Sheppard,
Jack McVeigh, AJ Griffin.......Tari comes back. The hope is all players come back shooting better from 3.

Here is the individual 3P% and games played in March 2024:
    Landale: 15 games......45.5% [ 5 of 11 ]
    Jabari: 14 games.........40.3% (month with most 3PA's....72 )
    Bullock: 11 games.......42.1% [ 8 of 19 ]
    Jeff Green: 13 gms.....38.1% [ 16 of 42 ]
    VanVleet: 15 gms........34.9% (Jan), 34.5% (Feb), 43.2% (March), 41.8% (April)

    JG4: 15 gms.,.............40.8%

    rest not so great
    Whitmore: 6 gms...........31.0% [ 9 of 29 ]
    Dillon: 15 gms:...............25.0%
    Holiday: 15 gms.............30% ( worst month from 3 in March.....lowest prior was 33%)
    Tate: 11 gms:.................25% [ 2 of 8 ]
    Amen: 15 gms................11.1% [ 1 of 9 ]

Team tried to pick up Pace but many players were tired since January as you see with VanVleet.
    basketball-reference.com

    ___________
Here is JG4 month to month......but also look at previous years
    23/24
    Oct .......25.0% (3 or 4 games)
    Nov ......37.5%
    Dec.......32.1%
    Jan........30.0%
    Feb.........26.3%
    March.....40.8%
    April.........29.0%

    But in...
    22/23.......,.......................................21/22
    Oct ............34.5%..............................28.6%
    Nov............34.3%...............................27.4%
    Dec ...........29.7%...............................48.0%
    Jan.............34.3%...............................23.7%
    Feb.............35.7%...............................38.6%
    March.........33.9%...............................39.7%
    April............40.7%...............................39.1%

I'm the first to say Jalen Green always hits a rookie Wall around 30 games in.......
this summer he said he was going to work on endurance.

    __________________

Plus the players that can look away as they shoot and make it.......are the guys that shoot
1000 threes a day. Both Jalen Green and Sengun have been screwing around to prevent the
    other from being "The Man"

Now it's a contract year and Udoka is going to kick their @$$ if they play that game.

But to surround jalen with 4 shooters you would need a stretch 5, of which like 3 exist on earth and we have none of. Surprised you would call me a SOF though, i'm definitely closer to a sengun hater than SOF as i don't believe in his archetype

Playing, coaching, evaluating are completely different skill sets. Look how bad almost every single coach is as a gm, or how bad the great players are at coaching or being a gm. The two smartest players in the nba, lebron and jokic, both got their teams to acquire Westbrook. There’s just no connection between playing and evaluating, and no reason there should be.

About the AI part, its rarely those who have played on his level did so much with so little being his core support for his Prime 76ers yrs....... Compare his support cast to others who made playoff/Finals run.........its like Bron in 07' level or worse

To say he is overrated is a stretch seeing no mainstream brainwashing entity has him in their top 20 all time

But you got players like Shaq who called him top 5 ever and Bron claimed him P4P GOAT.......

And for what its worth, Bron (and others) marveled at his height and said AI was 5'10'' who plays like a 6'8'' two-guard (TMac height)

So players take height into factor in a big mans league

But Kobe is basically overrated, he started in all star game at 15ppg coming off bench for Lakers ..... That dunk contest and the frenzy fanatics of Lakers nation got him voted in..... And the hype never died down, the 5 rings took it to where it is now......but Kobe was a true baller just like Iverson

Kobe also said the league was lucky that Iverson wasn't 6'5''

And if you ever played the game on serious level and was game planned for heavily by opponent, then you would understand what it is like to be your teams 1-4th options on offense

His core support for his Prime yrs are 6/7 ppg for career...... Are they overrated as well?

If you have actually played some meaningful ball you are truly in the minority on this topic, kudos for that

Did I call you a SOF'er? I was calling all those who are SOF'ers as SOF'ers.

Went through every box score of March and the starters predominantly were:
VanVleet / Jalen Green / Amen Thompson / Dillon Brooks / Jabari Smith

Both Amen and Dillon guarded the center position for those Jabari couldn't handle.
Jabari is supposedly 6'11"......and I'm telling most here that the league is going
towards the thinner centers that can shoot 3's. Soon the league will be all teams
running 5-out and variations of 5-out. These big plop plop centers who play
drop coverage will go by the way of the dinosaurs.

Because Jabari guarded Centers.....it caused centers to pause on whether to go out
and guard Jabari on the perimeter. This is why Jabari shot so well from 3.
As I've said, the league only has a handful of Big, Bigs: Jokic, Embiid, KAT/Gobert,
    Edey, Valancuinas, Brook Lopez

We asked Landale to face Nurkic, Lively, Hartenstein, Sabonis, Myles Turner. Now we have
    Steven Adams.

The hope is Jabari is 10 pounds of muscle stronger.
    Tari helps with help defense.
Hope is Amen can shoot 3's better (saw him make one at that JG4 mini camp footage)
Hope is Steven Adams can play before January
Hope is Sengun shoots 3's like it's a contract year.

Jack McVeigh was a scoring machine in their tournament.....many clutch 3's.

Reed Sheppard is suppose to be automatic

AJ Griffin is suppose to be a 3 & D player. I'm not a fan of him.

Volume shooters like Jalen Green, MJ. Kobe, Allen Iverson, Marbury, Bernard King like to drive,
get a few layups, a few foul calls, see a few free throws go through the net.....then they feel
good about themselves and start making anything they put up (mid range to half court).

They tend to be the more athletic players that can fly and work on dunk contest
material over 1000 threes a day. Me seeing Jalen Green shoot 4 look away
from 3 and making them......says a lot. Shooters often know it's going in
as soon as it leaves the hand. Bad shooters rarely ever feel that feeling.

Probably yeah but same could be said about Harden but on different levels, Harden with a motor and more athleticism and Defense could be GOAT but he is not.

And I am pretty certain that Jalen Green is neither Harden or Iverson but his own man.

I mean I get it. Harden is obviously the better player but Allen Iverson was definitely more fun to watch. When you are smaller you have to do more spectacular stuff with the ball to score. Harden obviously had shifty crossovers and was still fun to watch in his peak but Allen Iverson was a different level in terms of being "fun". And I understand "fun" is subjective. Some people don't see AI's game as fun to watch because they just can't enjoy it knowing the efficiency is mediocre to bad.

Same with Kobe. Kobe is more fun to watch than LeBron. More crafty footwork. More fancy moves to the rim, more fancy touch. LeBron was just so much more dominant in terms of imposing his strength and athleticism paired with an much higher level of passer and floor general that just made him a significantly better player.

Ya fun is EXTREMELY subjective, i'd rather watch peak dwight over peak curry any day of the week, small guards to me are the most boring players in the league. It's also not just that harden is better than iverson, it's the fact that it's a joke to even compare them. There has to be a line of reason, and this one crosses it by leaps and bounds.

People find Kyrie more fun than Harden. Harden is obviously better.

People like very quick laterally agile fancy handles with a deep bag and creative middie game.

Harden has some of that in his peak but he turned into a iso stationary dribble spammer. Effective but AI and Kyrie were more exciting in my eyes.

Duncan is less exciting than any of the players I just mentioned. Still by far the best player I mentioned here by a wide margin.
